We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

  • This job involves conducting process engineering studies, providing technical support, ensuring safety and efficiency of plant operations, handling delegated projects, and improving production quality and environmental performance.

Job Dimesions:

  • Number of studies realizable per year: 10+
  • Construction investment project (Millions US $): 0.01–1 for site modifications and ECP projects.
  • Associated impact of studies: incremental production (1-10kboepd), personnel safety, and environment.
  • Staff managed (number of personnel): None.

Context & Environment:

  • Location: Nigeria (Port Harcourt) with occasional missions to JV Onshore and Offshore sites.
  • Status: Resident.
  • Onshore Asset: OML 58 (OFS, OGP, NOPL).
  • Offshore assets: OML99, OML100 & FSO Unity, OML102.
  • Direct/Indirect reports: 0/0.
  • Budget: 0.
  • Provide technical support to dedicated assets.
  • Work closely with Smart room engineers, ECP Project leaders, Maintenance engineers, Production chemistry and well performance engineers on operational issues and modification requests

Activities
Conducting Process Engineering Studies and Handling Designated Projects:

  • Take the role of FO RFM Leader on Process / Operations related RFMs.
  • Interface closely with Tier 1 (Smart Room) and other disciplines/entities (Maintenance, Well Performance, GSR, ECP etc) to access required input for studies.
  • Carry-out process technical studies.
  • Conduct de-bottlenecking studies and recommend solutions to optimise existing installations.
  • Perform process simulations using the available Process tools; PROII, process sizing tools, etc.
  • Provide process sizing details for new equipment / instrument acquisition.
  • Recommend programmes of work for modifications and optimisation of the facilities and / or equipment and prepare the corresponding Scope of Requirement (study modification requests, scope of work, etc).
  • Contribute to guaranteeing the respect of deadlines and costs in the process studies and SMRs under one’s responsibility.

Providing Technical Support to Other Stakeholders:

  • Provide process assistance to Site Operations.
  • Provide relevant process documentations to other disciplines –Maintenance, Well Performance, Development Planning, etc.
  • Provide process support to project teams.
  • Contribute to the evolution of tools and work methods.

Contribute to Ensuring Safety and Efficiency of Plant Operations:

  • Ensure that Process files issued by engineering sections agree with company rules and with international standards.
  • Lead / Participate in technical reviews (HAZOP, PTR, Safety reviews) and consolidate opinions.
  • Participate in close out of actions resulting from audits.

Providing Updated Process Documents:

  • Provide pre-study, basic engineering and detailed engineering process documents for RFMs.
  • Perform periodical process facilities’assessment to identify gaps between on-site situation and As-built Documentations.
  • Ensure Process documentation updates (P&IDs, ESD logic diagrams, etc.) and their availability via PRODOM.

Improving Production Quality and Environmental Performance:

  • Prepare and update guidelines for the optimisation of production operations and verify their proper implementation on site.
  • Provide support to CFR and sustainability projects.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Minimum of B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Professional Experience (number of years): 2 - 5 years.
  • Specialist applications: User of process and flow assurance simulation tools: ProII, OLGA or equivalent.
