Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Subsea Field Engineer/Technician to join our offshore operations. This role is critical to the integrity and functionality of subsea production systems, requiring a specialist capable of managing complex mechanical and hydraulic interfaces under high-pressure conditions. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of subsea hardware while strictly adhering to international well control standards. This is a rotational offshore position that demands technical excellence, physical resilience, and a commitment to zero-incident operations.
Requirements:
1. Subsea Systems & Technical Execution
Hydraulic & Mechanical Maintenance: Lead the diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of subsea systems, including trees, manifolds, and control modules.
System Integration: Oversee the testing and integration of subsea hardware, ensuring all hydraulic and mechanical connections meet engineering specifications.
Troubleshooting: Resolve complex technical failures in subsea equipment to minimize operational downtime and ensure environmental safety.
2. Well Control & Safety Compliance
Pressure Management: Maintain strict adherence to well control protocols, utilizing both subsea and surface combined techniques to manage wellbore pressure.
Safety Leadership: Champion offshore safety standards, ensuring all subsea operations are conducted in accordance with international Oil & Gas regulations.
Emergency Response: Actively participate in well control drills and maintain a state of readiness for any subsea pressure anomalies.
3. Offshore Operational Management
Rotational Logistics: Execute duties effectively within a 28/28 or 35/35-day offshore rotation, maintaining high performance throughout the stint.
Documentation: Maintain meticulous technical logs, maintenance records, and equipment status reports for the onshore engineering team.
Resource Optimization: Manage offshore toolkits and spare parts inventory specifically related to subsea hydraulic systems.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Technical Credentials
Academic Background: Associate’s Degree in a Technical or Engineering discipline.
Mandatory Certification: Fundamental Well Control Certificate (Subsea and Surface Combined).
Technical Certification: Formal Mechanic/Hydraulic Certification or an equivalent recognized subsea-related technical program.
Experience & Background
Subsea Mastery: Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in subsea engineering or offshore subsea operations.
Industry Context: Professional experience within the Oil & Gas industry is a significant advantage.
Nationality: This position is strictly open to Nigerian nationals.
Core Competencies
Hydraulic Systems: Expert knowledge of high-pressure hydraulic circuits and subsea control fluids.
Mechanical Aptitude: Hands-on ability to work with heavy subsea hardware and ROV-interface tools.
Resilience: Ability to work in challenging offshore environments on a fixed rotational schedule.
