Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Electrical Engineer / Maintenance Manager to lead the technical operations across our Flour and Feed Mill, Dairy Processing, and Livestock units. This is a critical leadership role responsible for the reliability and performance of all electrical, mechanical, and utility assets. You will be tasked with minimizing downtime through rigorous preventive maintenance, leading a multi-disciplinary team of technicians, and ensuring that our production lines meet the highest safety and efficiency standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with deep industrial experience who can balance hands-on technical troubleshooting with strategic budget and asset management.

Requirements:

1. Electrical Systems & Power Management

• Infrastructural Oversight: Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical panels, high-capacity motors, transformers, and control equipment.

• Power Stability: Manage the stable supply of power across the facility, optimizing the use of generators, inverters, and alternative energy systems.

• Fault Diagnosis: Lead the rapid diagnosis of electrical faults to prevent bottlenecks in the production cycle.

• Documentation: Maintain and update all electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and system specifications.

2. Preventive Maintenance (PPM) & Asset Management

• PPM Strategy: Design and execute a robust Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule to extend the lifecycle of milling and dairy processing machinery.

• Mechanical Supervision: Oversee the servicing of specialized equipment including feed millers, dairy pasteurizers, and cold room cooling systems.

• Vendor Management: Act as the technical lead when liaising with external vendors for specialized equipment repairs or capital upgrades.

3. Operational Leadership & Utilities

• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a diverse team of maintenance technicians, electricians, and mechanics across all production units.

• Utility Management: Ensure the continuous operation of essential utilities, including water boreholes, pumps, and waste management systems.

• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict electrical safety standards, conduct risk assessments, and ensure the 100% usage of PPE across the maintenance department.

4. Budgeting & Performance Reporting

• Cost Control: Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, identifying energy-saving initiatives and cost-effective repair solutions.

• Data-Driven Reporting: Provide management with detailed downtime analysis, equipment performance reports, and recommendations for capital projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

• Academic Background: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng) in Electrical Engineering.

• Professional Tenure: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in industrial, manufacturing, or agro-processing environments.

• Niche Knowledge: Prior experience with milling plants, dairy processing, or livestock infrastructure is a significant advantage.

Core Competencies

• Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of industrial control systems, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), and heavy-duty mechanical interfaces.

• Leadership: Proven ability to manage a team under high-pressure, 24/7 production schedules.

• Analytical Skills: Proficiency in downtime analysis and maintenance software.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Nigerian electrical codes and industrial safety regulations.
