Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Offshore Hydraulic Mechanic to join our offshore engineering team. This role requires a specialist with deep expertise in the diagnostics, maintenance, and overhauling of complex hydraulic and mechanical systems used in the Oil & Gas industry. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of critical offshore equipment, ranging from cranes and winches to subsea control units. This is a high-pressure, rotational offshore position that demands a veteran who can troubleshoot high-pressure systems while maintaining a strict focus on safety and environmental protection.
Requirements:
1. Hydraulic System Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
Root Cause Analysis: Perform advanced troubleshooting on complex hydraulic circuits to identify and rectify pressure drops, leaks, or mechanical failures.
Component Overhaul: Lead the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders.
Circuit Verification: Read and interpret complex hydraulic schematics to execute precision repairs and system modifications.
2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Equipment Reliability: Execute scheduled maintenance on heavy-duty offshore equipment, including cranes, drawworks, and tensioning systems.
Fluid Analysis: Monitor and maintain hydraulic fluid quality, ensuring cleanliness standards (ISO 4406) are met to prevent system contamination.
Structural Integrity: Inspect and maintain associated mechanical components, ensuring all moving parts are lubricated and aligned.
3. Offshore Operations & Safety
Rotational Execution: Maintain high performance during a 28/28 or 35/35-day offshore rotation, ensuring all work is documented in the maintenance management system.
HSE Compliance: Adhere to all Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) protocols, especially when working with high-pressure accumulated energy.
Technical Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior mechanics and technicians on best practices for hydraulic safety and maintenance.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Technical Credentials
Academic Background: Associate’s Degree in a Technical or Engineering discipline.
Certification: Formal training and certification in Hydraulic Systems troubleshooting and maintenance.
Safety Certification: Valid offshore safety permits (e.g., BOSIET/FOET) and medical fitness for offshore work.
Experience & Nationality
Offshore Tenure: Minimum of 7 years of offshore experience specifically as a Mechanic with a heavy focus on hydraulics.
Industry Context: Direct experience in the Oil & Gas industry is a significant advantage.
Nationality: This position is strictly open to Nigerian nationals.

Mechanical Skill: Proficient in the use of specialized hydraulic testing tools and heavy-duty hand tools.
