Job Description:

Greyfield Hotel & Apartments is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Manager to take full ownership of the technical and physical integrity of our property. In the hospitality industry, the guest experience is directly tied to the seamless operation of facilities. You will be responsible for overseeing the upkeep of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and structural systems. Your primary goal is to minimize downtime, ensure rapid response to guest-room issues, and extend the lifespan of our assets through rigorous preventive maintenance. If you are a leader with a "fix-it-first" mentality and a deep understanding of hotel infrastructure, we want you on our team.

Requirements:

1. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

  • Systems Oversight: Oversee the continuous operation of central systems, including HVAC (Air Conditioning), Power Generators, Water Treatment Plants, and Elevators.

  • Asset Lifecycle: Implement and manage a Preventive Maintenance Schedule (PMS) for all kitchen equipment, laundry machines, and gym facilities to prevent costly breakdowns.

  • Guest Room Maintenance: Lead a "Rapid Response" team to resolve plumbing, electrical, or carpentry issues in guest rooms within established service timelines (SLA).

2. Energy Management & Utility Control

  • Utility Monitoring: Track and optimize the consumption of diesel, electricity, and water to reduce operational waste.

  • Generator Management: Ensure the efficient operation and timely servicing of power generators to provide 24/7 uninterrupted power to guests.

  • Sustainability: Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives, such as LED retrofitting or water-flow regulators, to improve the hotel’s bottom line.

3. Team Leadership & Project Oversight

  • Vendor Management: Supervise external contractors for specialized repairs and ensure all work meets the hotel's quality and safety standards.

  • Team Supervision: Mentor and manage the internal maintenance team (electricians, plumbers, AC technicians), ensuring they are trained in hospitality etiquette.

  • Renovations & Upgrades: Act as the project lead for any facility upgrades, painting cycles, or structural renovations to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Academic Background: Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Proven Tenure: Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within a hotel or multi-unit residential apartment complex.

  • Technical Versatility: Hands-on knowledge of HVAC systems, diesel generators, plumbing networks, and general civil works.

Core Competencies

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose complex technical issues under pressure and find cost-effective solutions.

  • Safety Mindset: Deep understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and fire safety protocols.

  • Leadership: Strong coordination skills to manage a 24/7 on-call technical team.

Salary

₦200,000 - ₦300,000/month
