Job Description:
M-KOPA is seeking a high-velocity Regional Retail Operations Team Lead to anchor our retail expansion across Lagos Island, Ajah, and Sangotedo. You will be the operational engine driving digital and financial inclusion for over 7 million customers. This role is not just about oversight; it is about building a scalable retail machine. You will manage complex inventory reconciliations, optimize reverse logistics, and lead a diverse team of Shop Assistants and Stock Controllers. Reporting to the Manager of Retail Operations, you will bridge the gap between field reality and strategic business objectives, ensuring that M-KOPA’s retail network remains the gold standard for efficiency and customer experience in Africa.
Requirements:
1. Inventory Intelligence & Depot Operations
Dynamic Stock Management: Oversee regional reconciliation, reordering understocked SKUs, and maintaining DSR (Direct Sales Representative) holding levels within strict min-max thresholds.
Aged Stock & Returns: Rigorously track aged stock returns, reallocations, and cancellation closures to ensure high capital efficiency.
Virtual Depot Architecture: Create and manage depot operations, serving as the central hub for stock allocation and reverse logistics.
2. Technical Logistics & Service Excellence
Technical Support: Manage phone repair logistics within specified SLAs, ensuring seamless customer pickups and high satisfaction scores.
Reverse Logistics: Oversee the adherence to reverse logistics protocols, ensuring faulty or returned units move through the system with zero friction.
Financial Oversight: Track collection and payment performance metrics across all retail points to mitigate risk and ensure revenue integrity.
3. Leadership, Coaching & Performance
Team Development: Act as a lead coach for Shop Assistants, mastering M-KOPA.net systems, product knowledge, and customer service standards.
Training Governance: Train new Stock Controllers and conduct weekly refresher sessions for existing teams to ensure zero process drift.
Strategic Strategy: Develop and execute regional retail strategies that translate daily operational wins into long-term business growth.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience & Academic Standards
Tenure: 3+ years of demonstrable experience in field office management, retail operations, or inventory management at scale.
Education: Diploma or Degree in Inventory Management, Customer Service, or a related field.
Multisite Mastery: Proven experience managing operations across multiple retail locations simultaneously.
Core Competencies
Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of inventory management systems, stock allocation logic, and reverse logistics.
