Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Business Development Manager to lead our growth strategy and drive sustainable revenue. This is a leadership role designed for a strategic architect who can identify untapped market opportunities while mentoring a high-performing sales team. You will be responsible for the entire growth lifecycle—from market intelligence and high-value negotiations to building long-term strategic alliances. The ideal candidate blends commercial aggression with operational discipline, ensuring that our expansion goals are met with precision and in full compliance with Nigerian regulatory standards.

Requirements:

1. Strategic Growth & Market Expansion

  • Strategy Implementation: Architect and deploy business development roadmaps that align with long-term corporate scaling goals.

  • Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive competitive analysis and monitor industry trends to identify new product/service opportunities and market entry points.

  • Revenue Driver: Lead high-value negotiations and secure major contract closures, focusing on both new client acquisition and the expansion of key accounts.

2. Leadership & Performance Management

  • Team Mentorship: Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of Business Development Executives, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

  • Target Setting: Define clear sales targets, KPIs, and performance benchmarks, ensuring the team is equipped to exceed their goals.

  • Executive Reporting: Prepare and present rigorous business performance forecasts and growth plans to senior management.

3. Strategic Alliances & Cross-Functional Synergy

  • Partnership Building: Develop and manage strategic alliances that support business expansion and brand positioning.

  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Customer Service to ensure seamless service delivery and resource alignment.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all business activities, contracts, and partnerships strictly adhere to company policies and Nigerian regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Professional Background

  • Academics: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification is a significant advantage.

  • Tenure: 5–8 years of experience in business development or sales.

  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role, with a track record of hitting team targets.

Technical & Core Competencies

  • Negotiation Mastery: Proven ability to manage complex, multi-layered contract negotiations with C-level stakeholders.

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate market data into actionable growth strategies and financial forecasts.

  • Communication: Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to draft high-impact business proposals.

  • CRM Proficiency: Experience using digital tools to track pipeline health and team productivity.
