Job Description:
Our client, a major player in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a high-caliber Technical Sales Engineer to drive business growth across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations. This is a specialized role requiring a rare blend of deep engineering knowledge and sharp commercial acumen. You will be responsible for the technical specification and sale of critical assets, including Blowout Preventers (BOPs), wellhead systems, OCTG, and advanced valve diagnostics. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of navigating complex sales cycles with drilling contractors and EPCs, ensuring all solutions meet rigorous API and ASME standards.
Requirements:
1. Technical Specification & Solution Engineering
Equipment Selection: Interpret complex customer technical specifications to recommend solutions based on pressure ratings, temperature, fluid compatibility, and operating environments.
Standards Compliance: Ensure all recommended valves and drilling equipment align with industry codes, specifically API 6A (Wellhead), API 16A (Drilling Link), and API 6D (Pipeline Valves).
System Integration: Work closely with customers to understand well control and drilling system requirements, providing both pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance.
2. Strategic Business Development & Acquisition
Sector Penetration: Identify and pursue high-value opportunities in the drilling and well services sector, targeting operators, drilling contractors, and EPC firms.
Product Promotion: Market an elite portfolio including mud pumps, choke/kill manifolds, drilling spools, gate/globe/ball valves, and digital valve diagnostics.
Technical Pitching: Deliver persuasive, data-backed technical presentations and site demonstrations tailored to the specific challenges of offshore and onshore environments.
3. Relationship Management & Commercial Strategy
Stakeholder Diplomacy: Build and maintain long-term relationships with OEMs and drilling contractors, acting as the primary technical liaison.
Sales Cycle Management: Lead complex negotiations and manage long-duration sales cycles that involve multiple technical and financial stakeholders.
Remote Monitoring: Promote and specify digital valve diagnostics and remote monitoring systems to enhance client operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Academic Background: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering.
Proven Tenure: 5–7 years of experience in technical sales, with a primary focus on drilling equipment, industrial valves, or process facilities.
Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of OCTG, Line pipes, hydraulic systems, and flow control equipment.
Technical Skills
Regulatory Knowledge: Firm grasp of API, ASME, and other relevant industry codes and standards.
Environment Experience: Hands-on familiarity with both offshore and onshore drilling environments and their unique technical requirements.
Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and technical negotiations.
