Job Description:
We are seeking a methodical and detail-oriented Inventory Officer to join our team in Lagos. In any high-functioning organization, inventory is not just "stock"—it is working capital. Your role is to ensure that every unit of goods is received, tracked, stored, and issued with 100% accuracy.
Your mission is to maintain the delicate balance between supply and demand. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our materials, from rigorous warehouse organization to advanced data tracking using ERP systems and Excel. If you have 2–3 years of experience and a "zero-variance" mindset, we invite you to anchor our store management operations.
Requirements:
1. Inbound & Outbound Logistics Control
Receiving & Quality Assurance: Oversee the receipt of all incoming goods, ensuring they match purchase orders and meet quality standards before storage.
Controlled Issuance: Manage the distribution of supplies to various departments, ensuring all outflows are authorized and documented to prevent shrinkage.
Movement Tracking: Monitor the real-time movement of products in and out of the facility, ensuring the physical reality always matches the digital record.
2. Stock Optimization & Data Management
Dynamic Stock Monitoring: Maintain optimal stock levels to prevent overstocking (capital tie-up) or stockouts (operational downtime).
Digital Record Governance: Maintain surgical accuracy in stock records using ERP systems and specialized Excel sheets for coordination and tracking.
Discrepancy Resolution: Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations to identify and resolve variances between manual and computerized systems.
3. Store Organization & Safety
Space Architecture: Organize the store layout to maximize accessibility, space utilization, and the safety of goods.
Classification: Implement clear labeling and categorization systems (such as ABC analysis) to ensure efficient retrieval of materials.
Inter-Departmental Liaison: Communicate effectively with procurement, finance, and operational teams to align inventory levels with business needs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: 2–3 years of proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
Technical IQ: Proficiency in ERP systems and the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, data tracking).
Core Competencies
Organizational Prowess: Ability to manage multiple inventory streams and documentation tasks simultaneously without losing accuracy.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with suppliers and internal department heads.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret stock data to forecast future supply needs.
