Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Inventory Officer to oversee the stock lifecycle of our pet care products. This role is essential for balancing high product availability with minimal waste across our retail and distribution channels. You will be responsible for everything from tracking sensitive inventory (such as perishable pet food and medications) to conducting rigorous stock reconciliations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who can bridge the gap between procurement and sales to ensure our shelves are always optimized for our customers and their pets.

Requirements:

1. Stock Monitoring & Data Integrity

• Movement Tracking: Meticulously record all inventory inflow (deliveries) and outflow (sales/transfers) to maintain a real-time view of stock levels.

• Record Keeping: Generate and maintain accurate inventory reports, ensuring all digital data matches physical stock.

• System Management: Utilize inventory management systems to track SKU performance and automate reorder alerts.

2. Stock Auditing & Loss Prevention

• Regular Counts: Lead periodic physical stock counts and "cycle counts" to identify and resolve variances immediately.

• Loss Mitigation: Implement strategies to prevent stockouts (shortages), overstocking (capital tie-up), and losses due to damage, theft, or expiration.

• Reconciliation: Reconcile physical inventory findings with system records to ensure 100% data accuracy.

3. Storage & Operational Coordination

• Proper Handling: Oversee the specialized storage requirements for pet products, ensuring temperature-sensitive items and heavy bags are handled according to safety standards.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with the Procurement team for replenishment and the Sales team to manage inventory for upcoming promotions or seasonal shifts.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

• Academic Background: OND/HND/B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Proven Tenure: 2+ years of experience in inventory control or store management, ideally within a retail or FMCG environment.

Core Competencies

• Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in record-keeping and data entry.

• Technical Skills: Basic to intermediate knowledge of inventory management software and MS Excel.

• Accountability: A high degree of integrity and responsibility for company assets.
