Job Description:

We are seeking a high-integrity, data-driven Senior Inventory Supervisor to lead the strategic and operational control of our inventory functions. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless flow of raw materials and finished goods across multiple warehouses and production units (Feed Mill, Hatchery, Oil Mill, etc.). You will be responsible for inventory accuracy, loss prevention, and the implementation of rigorous internal controls. The ideal candidate is a methodical leader who can manage a diverse team of storekeepers while collaborating with Procurement and Finance to optimize working capital and eliminate operational downtime.

Requirements:

1. Inventory Strategy & Precision Control

  • Strategic Level Setting: Establish and monitor optimal inventory thresholds (Min/Max and Re-order points) for raw materials, spares, and consumables to prevent stockouts or overstocking.

  • Accuracy & Reconciliation: Lead high-frequency cycle counts and comprehensive monthly/annual stock takes. Investigate root causes for variances, damages, or obsolescence.

  • Documentation Excellence: Enforce the accurate maintenance of bin cards, stock ledgers, and real-time ERP records for every transaction.

2. Multi-Warehouse & Operational Oversight

  • Standardization: Implement company-wide standards for labeling, stacking, and storage across all units, including the Feed Mill, Hatchery, and Oil Mill.

  • Rotation Principles: Strictly enforce FIFO (First-In-First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expired-First-Out) protocols to manage perishable and expiry-sensitive stock.

  • In-Transit Management: Oversee the secure transfer and receipt of materials between operational units, ensuring 100% alignment with approved documentation.

3. Leadership, Audit & Compliance

  • Team Mentorship: Supervise and evaluate the performance of Warehouse Supervisors and Storekeepers, fostering a culture of discipline and ethical standards.

  • Audit Readiness: Support internal and external audits by ensuring all inventory records are audit-proof and observations are closed promptly.

  • Loss Prevention: Strengthen internal controls to mitigate risks of pilferage, stock manipulation, or administrative errors.

4. Cross-Functional Synergy

  • Procurement & Production: Work as a strategic partner to Procurement for replenishment planning and to Production for ensuring uninterrupted material availability.

  • Financial Alignment: Liaise with the Accounts department for inventory valuation, month-end reconciliations, and fiscal closing activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Academic Background: Minimum of HND / BSc in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or Business Administration. (Master’s Degree is an added advantage).

  • Proven Tenure: 5–8 years of experience in inventory/store management within a manufacturing environment.

  • Supervisory Track Record: Demonstrated experience managing multiple stores and leading large inventory teams.

Core Competencies

  • Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with robust ERP/Inventory Management Software.

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to analyze stock trends, identify process gaps, and implement efficiency improvements.

  • Integrity: Exceptional ethical standards with a "zero-tolerance" approach to stock discrepancies.
