Job Description:
We are seeking a methodical and detail-oriented Inventory Officer to manage the lifecycle of our stock and warehouse assets. In this role, you will be the guardian of our inventory data, ensuring that every item received—whether from Abuja or local vendors—is accurately documented, binned, and reconciled within our SAP system. You will bridge the gap between procurement and finance by validating Goods Received Notes (GRNs), maintaining shelf organization, and preparing analytical reports that highlight stock health. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional who understands that accurate inventory is the backbone of efficient organizational operations.
Requirements:
1. Inbound Logistics & SAP Documentation
Verification & Intake: Assist in documenting all incoming items, ensuring that physical stock matches packing lists and company quality standards.
ERP Precision: Record all received items against Purchase Orders (POs) on SAP, ensuring that signed GRNs and invoices are correctly attached before transferring data to the Finance department.
Documentation Flow: Support the preparation and validation of GRNs, ensuring timely approval and meticulous filing for audit transparency.
2. Warehouse Organization & Bin Management
Systematic Binning: Oversee the proper placement of items in designated shelf locations, ensuring an organized layout that allows for rapid retrieval and accurate stock counts.
Notification System: Act as the communication hub, notifying relevant departments of newly received items to facilitate uninterrupted project and office operations.
Needs Assessment: Raise and register memos for depleted store items, aligning with procurement timelines to prevent stock-outs.
3. Reporting, Compliance & Audit Readiness
Inventory Analysis: Prepare periodic reports (weekly and monthly) that highlight stock levels, movement trends, and any identified variances.
Audit Control: Maintain strict adherence to inventory management policies, ensuring that the store is always "audit-ready" through consistent record-keeping and risk control.
Continuous Improvement: Work closely with the Store Manager to identify bottlenecks in store operations and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Technical Skills
Academic: B.Sc or HND in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience: 2–3 years of hands-on experience in inventory management or store operations.
Systems: Proficiency in SAP (Inventory/Material Management modules) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Core Competencies
Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to reconcile data and identify root causes of stock variances.
Integrity & Accuracy: High attention to detail in handling sensitive financial and operational documentation.
Communication: Clear written and verbal skills for effective reporting and inter-departmental coordination.
Organization: Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a tidy and logical warehouse space.
