Job Description:

Network Strategy & Route Architecture

  • Strategic Growth: Lead the medium- and long-term network strategy, conducting deep-dive feasibility studies for new market entries and frequency adjustments.

  • Feasibility & Analysis: Perform rigorous traffic demand forecasting, yield analysis, and competitive assessments to build business cases for bilateral (BASA) negotiations.

  • Hub Development: Optimize hub structures in Lagos (LOS) and Abuja (ABV), focusing on Minimum Connecting Times (MCT), bank structures, and wave planning to increase connecting traffic.

2. Scheduling, Fleet Assignment & Slot Management

  • Schedule Design: Design and publish seasonal flight schedules (e.g., S26/W26) that maximize fleet utilization and network profitability while respecting crew and maintenance constraints.

  • Global Slot Strategy: Lead the slot management strategy for high-demand, constrained airports such as London Gatwick/Heathrow, Dubai, and Johannesburg.

  • Regulatory Submission: Oversee timely schedule submissions to OAG, GDS, and aviation authorities, ensuring 100% regulatory compliance.

3. Commercial Performance & Revenue Optimization

  • Profitability Monitoring: Collaborate with Revenue Management to track Route Contribution, RASK, CASK, and Load Factors (LF).

  • Data-Driven Adjustments: Rapidly adjust capacity deployment based on market demand, seasonal trends, and competitive shifts.

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Work with Marketing, Sales, and the Operations Control Center (OCC) to ensure schedule robustness and disruption tolerance.

4. Regulatory Engagement & Leadership

  • Industry Representation: Act as the primary liaison with IATA, ICAO, AFCAC, and Civil Aviation Authorities on all network and scheduling matters.

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop the Network Planning team, fostering advanced analytical capabilities and deep industry knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Aviation Economics: Deep understanding of CASK/RASK dynamics, demand forecasting, and aircraft performance limitations.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the IATA Worldwide Slot Guidelines (WSG) and airport slot committees.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is highly preferred.

  • Experience: 7–10 years in the aviation industry, with at least 5 years specifically in Airline Network Planning or Scheduling.

  • Tools: Expert proficiency with scheduling and data tools (e.g., Sabre, Amadeus, Lufthansa NetLine, Diio Mi, or SRS Analyzer).

  • Analytical Skills: Advanced modeling skills in Excel, SQL, or Power BI to translate complex data into strategic business cases.
