Job Description:

The Group Managing Director (GMD) will serve as the principal architect of the group’s strategic vision and operational excellence. This role is designed for a seasoned executive with a deep engineering pedigree and a mastery of the Nigerian Energy sector. You will lead the executive team in navigating a complex regulatory environment while driving aggressive business growth, financial sustainability, and technological innovation. As the primary representative of the group, you will balance high-level diplomacy with government agencies and regulators alongside the rigorous oversight of large-scale upstream, midstream, or downstream operations.

Requirements:

1. Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Vision Execution: Direct the implementation of short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure the group’s market leadership and resilience.

• Executive Mentorship: Lead, inspire, and hold the executive leadership team accountable for departmental KPIs and corporate milestones.

• Corporate Representation: Serve as the definitive face of the group at high-profile industry events, international summits, and board-level negotiations.

2. Financial & Operational Excellence

• P&L Responsibility: Oversee the group’s total financial health, ensuring capital projects deliver maximum ROI while maintaining lean operational costs.

• Operational Integrity: Supervise large-scale, high-complexity oil and gas operations, ensuring that efficiency and innovation are embedded in the technical lifecycle.

• Compliance & Legal: Ensure 100% adherence to Nigerian laws, including the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and NCDMB local content requirements.

3. Strategic Alliances & Stakeholder Diplomacy

• Regulatory Relations: Build and maintain high-level relationships with government agencies (NUPRC, NMDPRA), key clients, and international partners.

• Innovation Driver: Spearhead the adoption of new technologies and energy transition strategies to future-proof the group’s portfolio.

• Risk Management: Architect robust risk mitigation frameworks to safeguard the group’s reputation, assets, and human capital in a volatile market.
