Job Description:
- We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Officer to drive sales growth, expand market presence, and build strong relationships with retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and institutional customers.
- In this role, you will focus on increasing product volume, opening new markets, improving product visibility, and supporting revenue growth for both retail and wholesale channels.
Key Responsibilities
As a Business Development Officer, your primary duties will include:
- Identifying and Onboarding New Partners: Seek out and establish relationships with new retailers, wholesalers, and distributors.
- Sales Strategy Development: Create and implement effective sales strategies to boost sales of soup and garri products.
- Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and enhance relationships with existing customers to encourage repeat business.
- Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, discounts, and supply agreements to maximize profitability.
- Market Analysis: Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends to stay ahead in the industry.
- Collaboration with Marketing: Work closely with marketing teams to coordinate promotions and product launches.
- Product Management: Ensure product availability and optimal shelf placement in retail outlets.
- Market Feedback Collection: Gather market feedback and communicate customer needs to management.
- Sales Performance Tracking: Track and report sales performance against targets.
- Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly sales and growth reports for management review.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in business development or sales.
Technical / Business Skills:
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in market analysis and customer segmentation.
- Knowledge of retail and wholesale distribution channels.
- Awareness of pricing strategies and profit margins.
- Basic understanding of sales data and reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets.
- Experience with CRM or sales tracking tools.
Salary
