Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber, strategically-minded Business Development Manager to lead our market positioning and revenue growth efforts within the Oil & Gas and EPCIC sectors. In this role, you will be the primary architect of our commercial success, responsible for translating client requirements into won work. You will leverage your deep technical knowledge and networking prowess to build relationships at the senior management level, while providing critical oversight to the tendering team to ensure our proposals are technically superior and commercially irresistible. This is an elite role for a closer who understands the Nigerian energy landscape and the intricacies of the NIPEX tendering process.
Requirements:
1. Market Positioning & Prospect Conversion
Strategic Alignment: Analyze current and future client requirements to position the Company as the preferred partner for high-value projects.
Conversion Strategy: Develop and execute tailored strategies to move prospects through the sales funnel—from initial expression of interest to final contract award.
Competitor Intelligence: Systematically gather and analyze competitor data to mold our operational and sales strategies, ensuring we maintain a distinct competitive edge.
2. Technical Relationship Management
Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain high-level relationships with client decision-makers, demonstrating the Company’s prowess in technology solutions and contracting services.
Technical Presentation: Lead technical presentations and workshops to showcase our engineering capabilities and past performance records.
Brand Ambassadorship: Represent the Company at industry events, ensuring our brand is associated with technical excellence and reliability.
3. Tendering & Proposal Governance
Commercial Oversight: Guide the tendering team on technical and commercial inputs, ensuring every proposal is precision-engineered to meet the client’s specific needs.
NIPEX Mastery: Navigate the NIPEX (Nigerian Petroleum Exchange) portal and tendering processes to ensure all submissions are compliant, timely, and optimized for success.
Risk/Value Assessment: Evaluate tender requirements against company capabilities to ensure we pursue only the most profitable and strategically aligned opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Academic Standards
Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Marketing.
Specialization: Deep understanding of the Nigerian Oil & Gas market, including the regulatory frameworks (NCDMB, NUPRC, NMDPRA).
Experience & Mastery
Tenure: Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in Sales or Business Development specifically within the EPCIC, Oil & Gas, or Energy Services sector.
Track Record: A verifiable history of driving revenue growth and securing high-value project wins.
Closing Skills: Exceptional ability to network, negotiate, and close complex commercial deals.
