Job Description:
We are seeking a results-driven Territory Manager to lead our sales execution and market presence within an assigned territory. In this role, you are responsible for driving secondary sales by ensuring our products are both available and highly visible to the consumer. You will serve as the primary link between the brand and the market, managing distributors and their sales forces to ensure that trade activities and merchandising plans are executed with precision across all relevant channels.
The ideal candidate is a commercially sharp professional who excels in distributor management and possesses the digital fluency to leverage sales tools for market dominance.
Requirements:
Market Coverage & Growth (Right Stores)
Expansion: Aggressively expand coverage to all viable stores within the territory, aiming for 100% effective coverage.
Market Intelligence: Constantly identify new store openings and improve controlled coverage through Sub-Distributor and Mainstream channels.
Store Optimization: Maximize the number of "Perfect Stores" by ensuring right merchandising tasks are executed and store-specific tasks are completed using Hand-Held Terminals (HHTs).
Service Excellence & Order Fulfillment (Better Served)
Logistics Oversight: Ensure all orders are fulfilled in full and on time, maintaining satisfactory levels of Customer Core Freight On-Time (CCFOT).
Assortment Strategy: Drive the right product assortment into relevant stores and improve "suggested sell-in" quantities to capture growth.
Complaint Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for Key Distributor (KD) and customer complaints, ensuring swift resolution and relationship retention.
Execution & Launch Management
Brand Leveraging: Build the distribution network by driving core-of-the-core products, new launches, and promotional packs.
Shelf Dominance: Improve on-shelf availability and Share of Shelf (SOS) during product launches or re-launches.
In-Store Excellence: Execute "Perfect Store" programs at the point of sale and provide on-the-ground coaching to Distributor Sales Representatives (DSRs).
Distributor & Trade Management
Operations: Oversee distributor appointments, regular stock-taking, system reconciliations, and Joint Business Plan (JBP) execution.
Capability Building: Lead the training and development of DSRs, ensuring they are proficient in sales techniques and LeverEdge hygiene.
Financial Controls: Manage Trade Term Spend (TTS) optimization and ensure the timely settlement of trade claims to stores.
Competitive Intelligence
Market Monitoring: Track and report on competitor activities, including new launches, price changes, consumer promotions, and wholesale trends to inform regional strategy.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience:
2–4 years of proven experience in Sales, preferably within the FMCG sector.
Demonstrated success in managing distributor networks and field sales teams.
Technical Skills:
Strong analytical and digital skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and use HHTs/CRM platforms effectively.
Proficiency in optimizing trade spends and managing complex logistical schedules.
Core Competencies:
Execution Focus: A relentless drive to achieve 100% of all KPIs and territory targets.
Leadership: Ability to coach, motivate, and develop a third-party sales force.
Strategic Agility: Capability to propose territory-specific activities to regional and channel managers based on real-time market insights.
