Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Operations Manager to lead and control our project portfolio and field activities in Warri and its surrounding regions. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of complex engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered in strict alignment with client specifications and international engineering standards. You will act as the central pivot between business development, technical engineering, and field execution, maintaining a relentless focus on safety, budgetary control, and schedule adherence.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineering leader with the technical depth to solve complex issues and the executive presence to manage multi-disciplinary teams in a high-stakes environment.
Requirements:
Operational Leadership & Project Execution
Regional Oversight: Manage and provide comprehensive support for multiple concurrent field operations and projects across the Warri axis.
Strategic Planning: Develop detailed execution plans that integrate technical activities, resource allocation, cost estimation, and rigorous scheduling.
Standards & Compliance: Ensure all operations meet international engineering standards and strictly adhere to company policies, systems, and safety requirements.
Contractual Oversight: Review and approve project contracts and cost estimates, ensuring financial viability and risk mitigation.
Technical Guidance & Problem Solving
Engineering Expertise: Provide high-level engineering guidance and project leadership, solving complex technical challenges that require broad functional knowledge.
R&D Oversight: Supervise research, development, testing, and evaluation efforts to ensure project innovation and technical integrity.
Business Integration: Collaborate with the Business Development team to define project specifications, procedures, and operability objectives.
Team Management & Safety
Staff Leadership: Directly supervise field operations and project support teams, taking an active role in employee selection, training, and performance management.
Safety Integration: Lead the "Safety First" culture, integrating health and safety protocols into every phase of project execution to meet client and regulatory objectives.
Resource Coordination: Partner with Resource Management to optimize staffing, equipment, and logistics across the regional project portfolio.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field.
Experience:
Minimum of 15 years of comprehensive experience managing diverse project activities.
Proven expertise across the full project lifecycle: Design, Procurement, Scheduling, Budgeting, Fabrication, Operations, Maintenance, and Commissioning.
Certifications:
Membership with the Project Management Institute (PMI) or similar professional bodies is highly advantageous.
PMP Certification is a significant plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in computerized project management and reporting tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
Broad knowledge of international engineering standards and regional operational dynamics in the Niger Delta.
Competencies:
Advanced negotiation and contract management skills.
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams under tight deadlines and high-pressure scenarios.
