Job Description:
We are seeking a technically grounded and leadership-oriented Supervisor to oversee our operations in Ilupeju. In this role, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between technical food science standards and daily operational excellence. You will manage a diverse team, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining rigorous quality, safety, and financial discipline within the plant.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of food technology and a proven ability to lead people in a high-pressure manufacturing environment.
Requirements:
Operational Oversight
Production Management: Supervise daily production cycles to ensure that all output targets are met on time and within quality specifications.
Process Optimization: Monitor workflows and machinery performance to minimize waste and improve overall plant efficiency.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all food production processes adhere to strict safety standards, hygiene regulations, and internal quality protocols.
People Leadership & Development
Team Supervision: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of floor staff and technicians, ensuring high levels of discipline and productivity.
Capacity Building: Identify training needs and provide on-the-job coaching to develop the technical and operational skills of the workforce.
Performance Management: Set clear KPIs for team members and conduct regular performance reviews to drive accountability.
Financial & Administrative Management
Resource Allocation: Manage the efficient use of raw materials and utilities to control production costs.
Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate daily and weekly operational reports, including production volumes, downtime analysis, and staff attendance.
Financial Discipline: Monitor operational expenses and support management in maintaining budget compliance across the unit.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Minimum of a University Degree (B.Sc./B.Tech) in Food Science, Food Technology, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar supervisory or leadership role within the food manufacturing sector.
Proven track record in Operations Management and People Development.
Technical Knowledge:
Solid understanding of food safety management systems (e.g., HACCP, GMP, NAFDAC regulations).
Familiarity with industrial food processing machinery and safety protocols.
Core Competencies:
Leadership: Strong ability to manage and inspire multicultural and multi-skilled teams.
Financial Literacy: Basic understanding of operational finance and cost control.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot operational bottlenecks and equipment issues rapidly.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and staff briefings.
