Job Description:
We are seeking a high-performing Branch Manager to lead our operations and drive business growth at the branch level. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of the branch, with a primary focus on aggressive deposit mobilization, loan portfolio expansion, and revenue generation. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that all activities align with the bank’s budgetary projections while maintaining the highest standards of operational integrity and risk management.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned microfinance professional with a proven track record in credit analysis and a strategic mindset for penetrating SME and retail markets.
Requirements:
Business Development & Revenue Growth
Deposit Mobilization: Design and implement aggressive strategies to attract new savings, current, and investment accounts from individuals, SMEs, and corporate clients.
Credit Management: Lead the sales, origination, and structuring of retail and SME loans, ensuring consistent portfolio growth while maintaining superior asset quality.
Sales Strategy: Develop and execute marketing and relationship management plans to achieve responsive sales targets and overall revenue growth.
Channel Migration: Drive customer adoption of cost-effective digital channels while identifying and actioning cross-selling opportunities to maximize customer lifetime value.
Operational Excellence & Risk Management
Resource Management: Optimize the use of staff, systems, and processes to deliver high-quality service and operational efficiency.
Internal Controls: Maintain a robust control environment by ensuring the segregation of duties, dual controls, and strict adherence to authority levels and system access limits.
Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and assess branch-level risks, implementing effective systems of control to reduce exposure and prevent fraud.
Infrastructure Oversight: Ensure the operational readiness of branch premises, managing physical security, assets, and the containment of controllable costs.
Leadership & People Development
Team Coaching: Act as a technical mentor to the relationship management team, enhancing their product knowledge in deposit and loan offerings.
Performance Management: Monitor and manage subordinate performance to ensure sustained profitability, full compliance with banking regulations, and overall staff well-being.
Initiative Rollout: Serve as the bridge between executive management and the branch, ensuring the effective implementation of all corporate initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: HND or B.Sc. Degree in Science, Social Science, or a related field. An M.Sc. or relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
Certification: Must have completed the Microfinance Certification Programme (MCP).
Experience:
Substantial experience specifically within a Microfinance Bank environment.
Strong, documented expertise in deposit mobilization, loan sales, and credit analysis.
Technical Skills:
Advanced financial analysis skills, including the ability to interpret complex financial statements and ratios.
Proficiency in Banking Software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
