Job Description:
- To oversee and coordinate all warehouse and logistics operations within the Lube Manufacturing Plant, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, inventory control, and dispatch of base oils, additives, packaging materials, and finished lubricants.
- The role ensures optimal stock management, cost-efficient logistics, and compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- warehouse & Inventory Management
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials (base oils, additives, packaging materials) and finished products.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of stock movements in the inventory management system (ERP or manual records).
- Conduct regular cycle counts and monthly stock reconciliations to minimize variances.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and coordinate with production and procurement teams to avoid stockout or overstocking.
- Implement proper FIFO/FEFO inventory control practices for all materials and products.
- Oversee proper labeling, segregation, and safe handling of lubricants and chemical materials.
Logistics Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate daily product dispatches to customers, depots, and distributors in line with delivery schedules.
- Liaise with transporters, drivers, and logistics service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Monitor inbound and outbound logistics to ensure accuracy in quantity, documentation, and delivery timelines.
- Track and report logistics performance metrics, including turnaround time, delivery accuracy, and transport cost efficiency.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, HSE, and regulatory standards for the movement and storage of petroleum-based products.
People & Process Management:
- Supervise warehouse and logistics staff, assigning daily tasks and monitoring performance.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality, and safety guidelines across warehouse and logistics operations.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in warehouse organization, housekeeping, and material handling efficiency.
- Conduct periodic training for warehouse personnel on inventory procedures and safety practices.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation for all inbound/outbound materials (Goods Receipt Notes, Delivery Notes, Stock Cards, etc.).
- Prepare periodic reports on inventory status, stock movements, and logistics performance.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary stock and logistics records.
Compliance and Policy Adherence:
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) policies, as well as company operational guidelines.
- Enforce adherence to warehouse and logistics Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and all internal control measures.
- Guarantee that all warehouse activities conform to regulatory, legal, and corporate compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate records for audit and reporting purposes, ensuring traceability of all material movements.
- Promote a culture of accountability and integrity by ensuring staff understand and comply with all company policies, ethical guidelines, and code of conduct.
- Participate in compliance audits, HSE inspections, and policy reviews; implement corrective actions promptly.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned by management.
Requirements:
Educational Requirement:
- BSc / HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in warehouse and logistics operations within a manufacturing or lubricant/blending plant environment.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of base oil, additives, packaging, and finished lubricant inventory management
- Proficiency in inventory management software
- Understanding of logistics planning, fleet coordination, and dispatch operations
- Good understanding of HSE requirements for chemical and lubricant handling.’
