Job Description:

We are seeking a commercially astute and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to manage our end-to-end procurement cycle. In a volatile market, the ability to secure high-quality resources at the best possible price is a critical competitive advantage. Your mission is to streamline our supply chain, from vendor discovery to final delivery, ensuring that our operations never stall due to inventory gaps or sub-standard supplies.

As the primary link between the company and its suppliers, you will be responsible for aggressive price negotiations, rigorous quality control, and maintaining impeccable digital records. If you have 3+ years of experience in procurement and a knack for identifying high-value vendor partnerships, we invite you to optimize our spending.

Requirements:

1. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management

  • Supplier Intelligence: Research, identify, and vet potential suppliers to ensure a diverse and reliable vendor base.

  • Comparative Analysis: Evaluate and compare supplier offers using a "Total Cost of Ownership" (TCO) approach.

  • Relationship Architecture: Build and maintain long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with key vendors to ensure priority service and favorable credit terms.

2. Procurement Operations & Negotiation

  • Contract Management: Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to maximize value and minimize risk.

  • Order Fulfillment: Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) and requisitions with speed and accuracy.

  • Logistics Coordination: Monitor the supply chain to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services, escalating any potential delays immediately.

3. Inventory Control & Compliance

  • Demand Forecasting: Monitor inventory levels and use historical data to forecast future procurement needs.

  • Quality Assurance: Verify that all delivered products meet the company’s strict quality standards before acceptance.

  • Governance: Maintain accurate, audit-ready records of all purchases, contracts, and invoices in compliance with company policy and Nigerian legal requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven working experience in a dedicated procurement or purchasing role.

  • Location: Must be able to work full-time in Lagos.

Core Competencies

  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to drive cost savings without compromising on product quality.

  • Numerical Accuracy: Strong analytical skills for cost reporting and inventory forecasting.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to navigate vendor disputes and internal stakeholder needs.

  • Tech IQ: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern Procurement/ERP software.
