About Company:
Welcome to Assist to Hire. We are an employment social network connecting suitable employees with the right employers.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Supermarket Inventory Manager to lead our stock control operations. In this role, you will be the custodian of our product lifecycle, ensuring that we maintain the perfect balance between high product availability and minimal waste. You will oversee the entire flow of goods—from receiving and warehousing to shelf replenishment and expiry tracking. The ideal candidate is a data-driven professional who can manage supplier relationships, lead rigorous stock audits, and implement systems that drastically reduce shrinkage and losses.
Requirements:
1. Stock Optimization & Flow Management
Inventory Balancing: Monitor daily stock levels to prevent the "Twin Risks" of stock-outs (lost sales) and overstocking (tied-up capital).
Replenishment Coordination: Partner with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods, aligning orders with historical sales data.
Warehouse & Floor Synergy: Ensure goods are properly labeled, stored, and arranged in both the warehouse and the retail floor to facilitate easy access and rapid restocking.
2. Quality Assurance & Loss Prevention
Shrinkage Control: Implement and enforce strict inventory control procedures to identify and eliminate sources of theft, damage, or administrative errors.
Expiry Management: Execute a "First-In, First-Out" (FIFO) or "First-Expired, First-Out" (FEFO) strategy to ensure freshness and timely removal of near-expiry items.
Audit & Reconciliation: Lead regular physical stock counts and conduct deep-dive variance analysis to resolve discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
3. Data Analytics & Reporting
System Management: Maintain 100% accuracy in the Inventory Management System, ensuring every receipt, transfer, and return is documented.
Performance Insights: Prepare weekly and monthly reports for management, highlighting stock turnover rates, shrinkage levels, and procurement needs.
Investigation: Lead investigations into significant stock variances, providing actionable solutions to prevent future occurrences.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Academic Background: HND or B.Sc. in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
Industry Tenure: 2–4 years of relevant experience in inventory or store management, specifically within a fast-paced supermarket or retail environment.
Technical & Professional Skills
Software Mastery: High proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and modern Inventory Management/POS Software.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data, recognize patterns in stock movement, and solve complex logistical problems.
Integrity: A high level of personal integrity and professional ethics, essential for managing high-value stock.
