About Company:

The Centre for Communication and Social Impact (CCSI) is a leading Social and Behavior Change (SBC) organization with expertise in utilizing evidence from research to implement effective strategies that address barriers preventing designated audiences from adopting recommended behaviors. Registered in 2001 as a Non-Governmental and Not for Profit Organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria, CCSI continues to work towards being the center of excellence in strategic communications in Africa. Driven by values of integrity, passion, care, innovation, and excellence, CCSI focuses on the central role of strategic communication to impact behaviors, build brands, and provide technical leadership in health and social development.

Job Description:

The Centre for Communication and Social Impact (CCSI) is seeking a strategic and culturally fluent Social Media Officer to lead the digital front of the Faith and Cultural Champions (FCC) Project. In the SBC (Social and Behavior Change) space, social media is more than a visibility tool—it is a vehicle for impact. Your mission is to bridge the gap between traditional social norms and modern health-seeking behaviors by leveraging digital platforms to reach communities in Kaduna and Kano.

You will lead the day-to-day management of the FCC project's digital presence, transforming raw field stories from faith and cultural leaders into high-impact content. If you have 5+ years of experience, are bilingual in Hausa and English, and have a passion for using digital storytelling to improve childbirth spacing outcomes, we want you on our team.

Requirements:

1. Digital Strategy & Content Orchestration

  • Strategic Roadmap: Collaborate with CCSI leadership to develop and execute a localized social media strategy across Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

  • Content Mastery: Maintain a monthly content calendar. Draft, edit, and publish high-quality posts, reels, scripts, and short blogs that meet CCSI’s standards for clarity, brand alignment, and cultural relevance.

  • Campaign Innovation: Design coherent digital campaigns for awareness days and partner amplification, ensuring messaging is context-sensitive for Northern Nigerian audiences.

2. Field Harvesting & Documentation

  • Story Identification: Work directly with state teams to identify compelling community stories, testimonials, and field-based impact moments.

  • Multimedia Documentation: Gather and curate raw field content—including professional-grade photography, short videos, and interviews—into platform-ready assets.

  • Milestone Tracking: Document key project activities such as stakeholder engagements, workshops, and learning sessions to build project credibility.

3. Community Engagement & Analytical Insight

  • Audience Growth: Apply growth strategies to expand reach, increase engagement rates, and improve the shareability of FCC project content.

  • Moderation & Liaison: Professionally manage comments and messages, escalating sensitive issues while maintaining a strong pulse on audience sentiment.

  • Performance Intelligence: Utilize platform analytics to produce quarterly reports, offering data-driven recommendations to continuously improve engagement.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in social/digital media management, with at least 3 years specifically within the development (NGO) space.

  • Language Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal proficiency in both Hausa and English (Mandatory).

  • Location IQ: Strong familiarity with the cultural and religious context of Kaduna and Kano.

Technical & Core Competencies

  • Storytelling: Strong editorial judgment with the ability to turn technical health data into engaging human stories.

  • Technical IQ: Proficiency in digital tools for photography and video editing; familiarity with the blogging ecosystem.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment.
