Job Description:
Our client is a premier publishing house in Benin City, dedicated to shaping the future of education from Creche through Secondary levels. We are seeking "Growth Catalysts"—Sales & Marketing Officers who understand that selling a book is about selling a future.
In this role, you will be the face of our curriculum solutions across Edo State. You won't just be taking orders; you will be building strategic partnerships with school proprietors, administrators, and teachers. If you are a persuasive communicator with a "relationship-first" mindset and the drive to meet aggressive sales targets, we want you to help us maintain our leadership in the publishing industry.
Requirements:
1. Relationship-Based Business Development
Consultative Selling: Secure orders from existing and prospective schools by demonstrating how our publications align with their specific curriculum needs.
Selection Advisory: Act as a subject matter expert, assisting educators in selecting the best-suited materials for Creche, Nursery, Primary, and Secondary categories.
Territory Penetration: Proactively identify and engage with new private and public schools to expand our market footprint within Benin City and surrounding areas.
2. Strategic Marketing & Profitability
Growth Strategy: Develop and execute tailored marketing plans aimed at improving brand visibility, sales volume, and overall profitability.
Customer Success: Professionally address and resolve customer concerns or delivery issues, ensuring long-term loyalty and "referral-worthy" service.
Market Intelligence: Monitor local education trends and competitor book adoptions to provide feedback for future publication concepts.
3. Operational Logistics & Reporting
Data Management: Utilize MS Word and Excel to track sales leads, manage customer databases, and generate performance reports.
Field Mobility: Utilize a valid driver’s license to maintain a consistent presence "on the road," visiting schools and attending educational forums.
Target Achievement: Consistently meet and exceed monthly sales quotas to drive organizational growth and maximize your commission earnings.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: B.Sc, HND, or OND in Marketing or a related discipline.
Experience: 2–3 years of proven experience in Sales or Marketing functions (Experience in the publishing or education sector is a major plus).
Location: Must be a resident of Benin City or willing to relocate immediately.
Core Competencies
Persuasion Mastery: Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
Technical Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office Suite for reporting and scheduling.
Mobility: Must possess a Valid Driver’s License.
Interpersonal Grit: Ability to handle rejection professionally and maintain a positive, results-oriented attitude.
