Job Description:
We are seeking a high-energy and technically-proficient Cable Sales Executive to drive market share across the construction, industrial, and renewable energy sectors. This is a field-heavy role requiring a professional who can navigate both the corporate boardroom and the bustling commercial hubs of Nigeria (such as Alaba International Market). You will be responsible for the end-to-end sales cycle of high-quality cable products—ranging from low-voltage domestic wires to specialized solar and industrial armored cables. The ideal candidate combines a solid understanding of electrical principles (IEC standards) with a relentless drive for customer acquisition and relationship management.
Requirements:
1. Strategic Business Development & Industry Outreach
Targeted Prospecting: Identify and penetrate new accounts in the Telecommunications, Solar Energy, and Construction sectors through cold calling, on-site visits, and trade exhibitions.
Technical Consultation: Analyze client requirements regarding cable specifications, voltage ratings (LV/MV/HV), and specific installation environments (e.g., underground, fire-rated, or high-temperature).
Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor pricing and product launches, providing actionable feedback to the company to maintain our competitive edge.
2. Product Promotion & Technical Sales
Value-Based Selling: Develop and present technical proposals highlighting product durability, fire resistance, and conductivity advantages.
Demonstrations: Conduct on-site product demonstrations for engineers and project managers to prove compliance with international standards (e.g., IEC, NIS).
Negotiation: Manage complex quotations and contract terms to ensure profitable closures while meeting client budget constraints.
3. Lifecycle Order Management & Reporting
Sales Orchestration: Oversee the full cycle from lead generation to delivery, ensuring seamless coordination between the warehouse and the client.
Relationship Management: Act as a dedicated account manager for existing clients to secure repeat orders and identify expansion opportunities within their projects.
Performance Tracking: Submit detailed weekly and monthly sales reports, providing data-driven insights into market conditions and customer feedback.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Academic Background: OND, HND, or BSc in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
Proven Tenure: 2–3 years of sales experience, ideally within the electrical, cable, or telecommunications industry.
Local Insight: Deep familiarity with the Nigerian market, specifically industrial zones and major hubs like Alaba International Market or the Lagos-Badagry Expressway corridor.
Core Competencies
Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of electrical principles and international cable standards (IEC).
Communication: Excellent presentation skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Resilience: Highly resilient and capable of performing in high-pressure field/outdoor conditions.
Additional Requirements
Age: 21 – 45 years old.
Mobility: Valid driver’s license is preferred due to frequent travel requirements.
Language: Fluency in English (written and verbal) is mandatory.
