Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sales Attendant to serve as a key point of contact for our retail and trade customers. In this role, you will be more than just a cashier; you will be a product advisor, helping contractors and homeowners select the right wood species, grades, and dimensions for their projects. You will be responsible for the end-to-end order process—from the initial inquiry and stock verification in our ERP system to coordinating with the logistics team for final fulfillment. Requirements:

1. Consultative Customer Service

  • Expert Guidance: Greet walk-in customers and contractors, providing technical insights into wood species (hardwood vs. softwood), grades, and moisture content.

  • Inquiry Management: Act as the voice of the company by managing professional phone and email correspondence, ensuring no lead goes unanswered.

  • Conflict Resolution: Handle minor customer disputes with poise, ensuring that service recovery is fast and effective.

2. Precision Order Management

  • ERP Data Entry: Accurately enter orders into the system, ensuring that item codes, quantities, and pricing are 100% correct.

  • Fulfillment Coordination: Liaise directly with the warehouse and logistics teams to verify stock availability and provide customers with realistic delivery timelines.

  • Financial Documentation: Generate professional invoices, packing lists, and receipts, ensuring the "paper trail" for every sale is impeccable.

3. Sales Growth & Inventory Support

  • Strategic Upselling: Suggest relevant accessories or alternative wood grades to maximize the value of every customer interaction.

  • Stock Stewardship: Assist with physical stock checks and ensure all timber products are properly labeled with the correct SKU and pricing.

  • Market Intelligence: Track repeat customer behavior and report daily sales trends to supervisors to help refine our inventory and pricing strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Background

  • Education: Minimum of an OND or B.Sc in any field; background in Forestry, Wood Tech, or Business is a plus.

  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency in using ERP/CRM systems and basic Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).

  • Experience: 1–2 years in a retail sales or customer-facing role, ideally within the building materials or timber industry.
