Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Recruitment Officer to join our mining operations team in Kaduna. In this role, you will be the primary architect of our workforce, managing the end-to-end talent acquisition lifecycle for both technical field roles and corporate positions. The mining sector presents unique staffing challenges; therefore, we need a recruiter who can build resilient talent pipelines, navigate Nigerian labor laws, and ensure a seamless onboarding experience in a high-stakes industrial environment. Requirements:

1. End-to-End Talent Acquisition

  • Full-Cycle Management: Execute the complete recruitment loop: from drafting specialized job descriptions and posting to niche boards, to screening, interviewing, and final onboarding.

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement recruitment strategies tailored to the mining sector, including the sourcing of specialized technical engineers and heavy machinery operators.

  • Pipeline Engineering: Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for recurring technical and non-technical roles to minimize "Time-to-Fill" for critical site operations.

2. Stakeholder Collaboration & Compliance

  • Departmental Alignment: Collaborate closely with Mine Managers and Department Heads to understand specific technical requirements and site-specific staffing needs.

  • Legal Stewardship: Ensure all hiring practices are in 100% compliance with Nigerian Labor Laws, industry-specific safety regulations, and internal company policies.

  • External Partnerships: Coordinate with recruitment agencies, technical colleges, and local community leaders to broaden the reach of our talent search.

3. Data Management & Employer Branding

  • Recruitment Analytics: Prepare and present detailed reports on key metrics such as "Cost-per-Hire," "Source Quality," and "Retention Rates" for management review.

  • Branding Initiatives: Support employer branding efforts to position the company as the premier employer of choice within the Kaduna mining corridor.

  • Database Integrity: Maintain and update a comprehensive Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and candidate database for future organizational needs.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proven Tenure: 3–4 years of recruitment experience, with a significant advantage given to candidates from the Mining, Oil & Gas, or Construction sectors.

  • Regional Expertise: Strong familiarity with the Nigerian labor market and Kaduna-specific industrial landscape.

Core Competencies

  • Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of HR software, job boards (LinkedIn, MyJobMag, etc.), and the MS Office Suite.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional negotiation and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse candidates, from site laborers to executive leadership.

  • Professionalism: A high level of integrity, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority roles simultaneously.
