About Company:
Savgret Consulting Limited is recruiting to fill the position above
Job Description:
We are seeking a high-integrity, result-oriented Project Engineer to lead our site operations and supervise a team of junior engineers. In this role, you are the technical and operational heartbeat of our projects. You will be responsible for translating complex construction drawings into high-quality reality, ensuring that milestones are met safely, on time, and within the defined specifications.
As a leader on-site, you will coordinate personnel and stakeholders, manage critical material schedules, and act as a primary liaison with the design and quality assurance teams. If you have a proven track record of managing site logistics, navigating statutory approvals, and maintaining zero-compromise safety standards in the Nigerian construction landscape, this role is for you.
Requirements:
1. Technical Leadership & Milestone Management
Blueprint Governance: Review and validate all construction drawings across all disciplines before issuing them to site engineers for execution.
Team Supervision: Directly manage and monitor the performance of all Project Engineers under your purview, ensuring they hit their specific project milestones.
Quality Assurance: Partner with Design and QAQC teams to ensure critical sign-offs are obtained before proceeding to the next stages of work (e.g., concrete pours, structural steel).
2. Planning, Logistics & Variance Analysis
Projection Planning: Lead weekly projection meetings to align the site team with upcoming goals and identify resource needs.
Material Stewardship: In conjunction with the Commercial Manager and PPM, develop material schedules to ensure tools, equipment, and raw materials are delivered JIT (Just-In-Time).
Reporting & Analysis: Collaborate with Project Planners to generate weekly reports that highlight variance analysis—identifying deviations between planned vs. actual progress.
3. Site Compliance & Risk Mitigation
Statutory Excellence: Ensure all government approvals and mandatory site tests (soil, concrete, etc.) are conducted and submitted to the appropriate regulatory agencies.
Safety Advocacy: Act as the first line of defense for site safety; identify lapses and demand redresses before any high-risk activity is implemented.
Deviation Recovery: Proactively recommend "catch-up" work plans to the PPM whenever activities fall behind schedule to minimize time loss.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or a related field.
Certification: COREN or PMP certification is a significant advantage.
Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory project engineering role within the construction industry in Nigeria.
Core Competencies
Technical Proficiency: Ability to interpret complex architectural and structural drawings with ease.
Strategic Planning: Proficiency in project management software and the ability to conduct variance analysis.
Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills to manage laborers, engineers, design teams, and regulatory bodies.
