In the dynamic and geographically challenging landscape of Lagos, your role is to ensure the safety, stability, and longevity of ambitious architectural designs. You will be responsible for the full structural lifecycle—from initial site investigation and stress analysis to onsite supervision of reinforcement and concrete pouring.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of Lagos' unique soil profiles (sand and swamp) and is an expert in modern structural software. If you are a chartered or near-chartered engineer with a portfolio of multi-story developments, we invite you to lead our structural division.
Requirements:
1. Structural Analysis & Design Integrity
Detailed Modeling: Design and analyze complex structures (reinforced concrete, steel, and timber) using advanced software to ensure they can withstand various loads and environmental stresses.
Blueprint Precision: Generate comprehensive structural drawings, including floor plans, section details, and reinforcement schedules that align with Eurocodes or relevant Nigerian Standards.
Optimization: Balance structural safety with material efficiency, ensuring projects are both robust and cost-effective.
2. Foundation Engineering & Site Dynamics
Soil Profile Interpretation: Analyze geotechnical reports to design appropriate foundation systems (piles, rafts, or pads) suited for the Lekki/Lagos coastal terrain.
Seismic & Wind Analysis: Conduct specialized calculations to account for wind loads on high-rise structures and potential seismic activity.
Renovation & Retrofitting: Assess existing structures for structural integrity and design reinforcement solutions for building expansions or modifications.
3. Site Supervision & Quality Assurance
Technical Inspections: Conduct regular site visits to verify that construction matches the approved structural designs and specifications.
Material Validation: Oversee the testing of concrete strength (slump and cube tests) and the quality of reinforcement steel to ensure zero-compromise on safety.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Architects, MEP Engineers, and Project Managers to resolve onsite structural conflicts in real-time.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Certification: COREN registration (or being in the final stages of chartership) is highly preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in structural design and site supervision, specifically with multi-story and luxury residential projects in Nigeria.
Tech Stack: Mastery of AutoCAD, Orion/CSC, STAAD.Pro, or Revit Structure.
Core Competencies
Analytical Thinking: The ability to visualize three-dimensional force distributions and identify potential failure points.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Lagos State Physical Planning and Development Authority (LASPPPA) requirements.
