Job Description:

Yassir is building the future of on-demand services across Africa. As a Senior iOS Engineer, you will join our "Last Mile Delivery" tech stack, working on a high-quality codebase using the latest Swift and SwiftUI tools. This isn't just about building an app; it’s about engineering the interface for a complex ecosystem that handles real-time mapping, routing, and digital payments.

We are looking for a veteran developer with 5+ years of experience who thrives in a "Y Combinator" startup culture. You will be responsible for translating complex end-user requirements into pragmatic, high-performance technical solutions that can scale to millions of users.

Requirements:

1. High-Performance iOS Engineering

• Native Development: Design and build robust applications using Swift and SwiftUI, ensuring the highest standards of responsiveness and quality.

• Architecture & Integration: Deeply integrate mobile frontends with backend micro-services via RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless data flow for delivery tracking.

• Optimization: Identify and correct performance bottlenecks and memory leaks to ensure a smooth user experience even in low-bandwidth environments.

2. Collaborative Problem Solving & Design

• Root Cause Analysis: Dive into difficult technical problems and lead rapid, collaborative bug fixing and system hardening.

• Product Brainstorming: Contribute directly to the evolution of our algorithms, mapping systems, and identity infrastructure.

• Agile Shipping: Work alongside cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features on a strict production schedule.

3. Systems Infrastructure & Scaling

• Scalability Mindset: Leverage familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Redis to ensure the mobile experience remains stable as our user base grows.

• Cloud Connectivity: Implement and maintain cloud message APIs and push notifications to keep users updated on delivery status in real-time.

• Code Governance: Maintain high code quality through rigorous documentation, version control (GIT), and automated testing.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: B.Sc / M.Sc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in iOS development.

• Core Language: Expertise in Native Swift.

• Web Tech: Mastery of REST/RESTful APIs and micro-services architecture.

Technical "Nice to Haves"

• DevOps: Experience with Docker or Kubernetes.

• Performance: Knowledge of Caching (Redis) and Web Load Balancing.

• Sector Experience: Background in Mobility, Last-Mile Delivery, or Fintech is a major advantage.
