Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support Officer with a strong foundation in networking to maintain and optimize our organization’s technological backbone. In this role, you will be the primary technical responder, ensuring that hardware, software, and network infrastructures remain resilient and high-performing. You will balance hands-on network administration—managing firewalls, switches, and VPNs—with high-touch end-user support. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can translate complex technical issues into clear solutions for non-technical staff, maintaining a seamless digital environment for both our internal teams and external clients.
Requirements:
1. Technical Support & Help Desk Management
Rapid Resolution: Provide tier-1 and tier-2 support for hardware, software, and networking issues, ensuring minimal downtime for end-users.
Incident Lifecycle: Manage the help desk queue by documenting incidents, prioritizing urgent requests, and escalating complex problems to ensure efficient resolution.
Remote & On-Site Support: Utilize remote desktop tools and physical site visits to configure, repair, and maintain computer systems and peripherals.
2. Network Administration & Infrastructure Maintenance
Core Networking: Administer and monitor LAN/WAN infrastructures, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points (WAPs).
Optimization & Security: Perform regular updates and performance tuning on DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations to ensure data protection and network reliability.
System Stewardship: Collaborate on the maintenance of servers, cloud environments (Microsoft 365), and backup solutions to protect organizational data assets.
3. Deployment, Training & Documentation
Hardware/Software Lifecycle: Install, upgrade, and audit IT assets, ensuring all software is compatible and properly licensed.
User Empowerment: Develop and deliver training sessions on technology tools and cybersecurity best practices.
Knowledge Management: Create and maintain a comprehensive technical knowledge base, including FAQs and SOPs for common IT workflows.
Qualifications and Skills:
Technical Proficiency
Networking Mastery: Practical knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, IPSec, firewalls, and routing/switching.
System Ecosystems: Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and multiple operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA are highly advantageous.
Education & Experience
Academic: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (Preferred).
Tenure: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in IT support and network administration.
Soft Skills
Customer Centricity: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and clarity.
Analytical Thinking: A methodical approach to troubleshooting and the ability to work independently under pressure.
