Job Description:
We are seeking a highly analytical and meticulous Inventory Supervisor to oversee our stock management operations. In this role, you will be the custodian of our physical assets, ensuring that inventory levels are optimized, accurately recorded, and protected against loss. You will bridge the gap between warehouse operations and financial reporting by interpreting stock data to drive informed purchasing and distribution decisions. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented leader who can manage high-volume inventory in a fast-paced retail or distribution environment.
Requirements:
1. Stock Control & Accuracy
Cycle Counting: Design and lead regular cycle counts and full physical stocktakes to ensure 100% variance-free reconciliation between physical stock and the system.
Process Oversight: Supervise the receiving, shelving, and dispatching of goods to ensure all movements are documented according to SOPs.
Loss Prevention: Implement strict controls to identify and minimize shrinkage, damages, and expiration risks.
2. Data Analysis & Inventory Optimization
Reporting: Prepare detailed weekly and monthly inventory reports, highlighting stock turnover rates, aging stock, and replenishment needs.
Data-Driven Decisions: Interpret stock data to identify trends, forecast demand, and advise management on optimal stock-holding levels.
Numerical Rigor: Apply strong analytical skills to calculate safety stock, reorder points, and lead times.
3. Warehouse & Team Leadership
Organization: Maintain a high standard of warehouse organization, ensuring efficient space utilization and "First-In, First-Out" (FIFO) or FEFO compliance.
Team Management: Supervise and train warehouse staff on inventory handling procedures and the use of inventory management software.
Cross-functional Liaison: Work closely with the Procurement, Sales, and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies and support business-wide stock availability.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience & Background
History: 3 – 5 years of experience specifically managing large-scale inventory.
Sector Knowledge: Proven experience in warehouse, retail, or distribution environments is highly preferred.
Core Competencies
Computer Literacy: Mid-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) and hands-on experience with modern Inventory Management Systems (IMS/ERP).
Analytical Skills: Strong numerical ability with a knack for interpreting complex datasets to make informed decisions.
Attention to Detail: Unwavering commitment to accuracy and high organizational standards.
Communication: Excellent reporting skills with the ability to present technical inventory data to non-technical stakeholders.
Salary
