Job Description:

1. Internal Audit & Transaction Monitoring

• Lead and oversee daily bank transaction reviews and comprehensive auditing processes.

• Conduct rigorous customer verification checks and internal staff audits to ensure data integrity.

• Implement and refine internal control frameworks to prevent operational leakages.

2. Fraud Prevention & Investigation

• Proactively investigate discrepancies, cash suppression, and potential fraud cases.

• Develop and maintain a robust system for fraud detection and asset protection.

• Conduct field visits for physical verification of loan clients and collateral where necessary.

3. Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure strict adherence to CBN microfinance guidelines, internal policies, and statutory regulations.

• Perform ongoing risk assessments and develop proactive mitigation strategies to protect the institution.

• Ensure all KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML/CFT standards are met across all branches.

4. Reporting & Leadership

• Prepare and present detailed audit findings and control activity reports to senior management and the Board.

• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the Internal Control & Audit team.

• Drive a culture of accountability and professional ethics across the organization.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Internal Control/Audit, specifically within a Microfinance Bank (MFB) or a Commercial Bank.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Audit Management Software, core banking systems (CBS), and MS Office.

• Core Competencies: Strong analytical mind, investigative skills, and the ability to maintain objectivity under pressure.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Professional Certification: ICAN or ACCA (Chartered status is a significant advantage).
