This is a foundational role designed for an engineer with a strong background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering who excels at following standard operating procedures (SOPs) while developing the skills to handle high-stakes facility repairs. You will work under the guidance of senior technical staff to ensure that our plumbing, fire suppression, and safety systems function flawlessly.

Requirements:

  • Preventative Stewardship: Perform semi-routine maintenance checks and installations on non-critical facility components to prevent system-wide failures.

  • BMS Oversight: Monitor the Building Monitoring System (BMS), responding with urgency to alarms and alerts according to established protocols.

  • Subsystem Support: Assist senior staff in the repair and operation of critical systems, including plumbing, high-level electrical components, and fire suppression units.

2. Vendor Governance & Site Administration

  • Vendor Coordination: Act as the on-site point of contact for service providers, ensuring that maintenance activities meet Equinix’s specific requirements and safety standards.

  • MOP Management: Execute semi-routine site logs for Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs) and scripts to ensure all work is documented and authorized.

  • Work Order Flow: Support the approval process for service providers, including morning briefings, mid-day monitoring, and final reviews of completed work.

3. Incident Support & Collaboration

  • Incident Response: Act as a first responder to semi-routine facility incidents, collaborating with the wider team to resolve issues and restore normal operations.

  • Infrastructure Projects: Provide technical assistance on large-scale infrastructure projects and circuit installations under the direction of senior engineers.

  • Inventory Control: Track and inform stakeholders of inventory needs to ensure that critical spare parts and equipment are always in stock.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience: 1–4 years of equivalent work experience, preferably in a technical or industrial facility environment.

Core Competencies

  • Procedural Discipline: Ability to strictly follow established operating procedures on routine work and absorb instructions quickly for new assignments.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Basic skills in maintaining and repairing facility components and office/auxiliary equipment.

  • Collaboration: A team-oriented mindset with the communication skills necessary to inform stakeholders and work alongside senior technical leads.

  • Safety Awareness: A deep understanding of fire suppression, safety systems, and industrial compliance.
