Job Description:

AP Renewables is seeking a high-caliber Design & Deployment Manager to lead the technical architecture and end-to-end execution of our solar PV and hybrid energy portfolio. Operating out of our Ijora/Ikeja hubs, you will be the bridge between visionary renewable strategy and high-performance engineering reality.

You will lead a multidisciplinary lifecycle—from conducting sophisticated station load audits and system sizing to vetting third-party vendors and overseeing site commissioning. Your goal is to ensure that every solution, whether for a residential home or a massive industrial plant, is cost-efficient, technically superior, and built to global safety standards. If you are a veteran engineer with a mastery of PVsyst and a track record of scaling hybrid energy systems, we want you to drive our deployment engine.

Requirements:

1. Engineering Excellence & System Design

• Advanced Modeling: Lead the design of solar PV and hybrid systems, including component selection, performance modeling, and the preparation of detailed Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs) and Bills of Quantities (BoQs).

• Technical Feasibility: Conduct site assessments and load audits to determine the viability of renewable integration for diverse customer segments.

• Compliance & HSE: Ensure all designs align with Nigerian electrical standards, OEM guidelines (e.g., Huawei FusionSolar), and rigorous Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols.

2. Deployment Strategy & Vendor Governance

• End-to-End Lifecycle: Manage the full project lifecycle, providing critical technical support to field teams during the installation and commissioning phases.

• Vendor Ecosystem: Screen, onboard, and govern third-party contractors and vendors, ensuring they meet the high installation standards required by AP Renewables.

• Supply Chain Synergy: Support procurement by providing technical specifications, evaluating OEMs, and recommending the most reliable, cost-efficient energy solutions.

3. Cross-Functional Leadership & R&D

• Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Sales and Business Development to identify high-potential customer segments and provide technical guidance for winning proposals.

• Design Governance: Implement standardized documentation and KPI monitoring to drive continuous improvement across the engineering team.

• Innovation: Lead R&D efforts to incorporate the latest in battery storage and smart energy management technologies into our core offerings.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Renewable, or Mechanical Engineering.

• Experience: 8–10 years in solar PV and renewable design, with a strong emphasis on C&I (Commercial & Industrial) and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems).

• Software Mastery: Expert proficiency in PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, and SketchUp. Familiarity with ETAP or similar power analysis tools is a plus.

• Platform Knowledge: Exposure to OEM monitoring and management platforms (e.g., Huawei FusionSolar) is highly desirable.

Core Competencies

• Technical Leadership: Proven ability to manage multiple complex design projects concurrently.

• Cost Optimization: A knack for producing accurate BoQs that balance high performance with commercial viability.

• Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams, external vendors, and high-value clients.
