Job Description:
We are seeking a commercially astute and operationally grounded Vessel Contract Manager to oversee the complete lifecycle of our offshore assets. In this pivotal role, you will be the ultimate guardian of our Charter Party agreements, ensuring that every vessel—from on-hire to off-hire—operates at peak commercial efficiency. You will serve as the primary diplomatic bridge between the company and our global energy clients, managing expectations, mitigating downtime risks, and ensuring that our technical capabilities perfectly align with project scopes. If you possess a deep understanding of marine contracts and the ability to represent the company with distinction in the energy community, we want you at the helm of our contract operations.
Requirements:
1. Full-Cycle Charter Party Management
Contractual Stewardship: Manage all vessel contracts from initial on-hire through final off-hire, ensuring strict adherence to the Charter Party terms (e.g., BIMCO, SUPPLYTIME).
Technical Review: Analyze "Scope of Work" for new tenders to confirm that vessel capacity, crew qualifications, and shore-based support meet or exceed client requirements.
Problem Mitigation: Proactively advise the Commercial Team on downtime days, deviations, or operational issues that impact invoicing or contractual standing.
2. Strategic Client Relationship Management
Principal Liaison: Act as the dedicated point of contact for clients throughout the charter term, resolving disputes and facilitating smooth information flow.
Community Representation: In coordination with the Offshore Director, maintain a high-profile presence within the Marine and Energy communities through regular client visits and networking.
Reputation Management: Foster long-term "good working relations" by balancing firm contract enforcement with proactive service delivery.
3. Commercial & Operational Integration
Tender Support: Ensure that the Commercial team is armed with accurate technical data regarding vessel capability and availability for new enquiries.
Financial Alignment: Monitor and report on any contractual deviations that may affect the company’s bottom line or invoicing accuracy.
Qualifications and Skills:
Technical & Professional Profile
Experience: Significant experience in Marine Contract Management or Vessel Operations within the Energy sector.
Legal/Contractual Literacy: Expert understanding of standard maritime charter parties and offshore service agreements.
Technical Savvy: Ability to interpret vessel specifications and operational limits against complex client scopes of work.
Core Competencies
Diplomacy & Negotiation: Ability to manage client expectations and resolve contractual friction points with professional grace.
Analytical Reasoning: High attention to detail regarding downtime calculations and contractual obligations.
Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration between Offshore, Commercial, and Legal teams.
