Job Description:
We are seeking a commercially astute and result-oriented Branch Manager to lead our branch operations. In this role, you will act as the "CEO of the Branch," responsible for driving aggressive growth in both the loan portfolio and deposit base while maintaining impeccable credit quality. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of Loan Officers, Operations Staff, and Customer Service professionals to deliver exceptional financial services to our target market. If you have a proven track record of managing a healthy Portfolio at Risk (PAR) and a passion for financial inclusion, we want you to lead our team.
Requirements:
1. Strategic Business Growth & Market Penetration
Target Achievement: Drive the branch to meet and exceed monthly and quarterly targets for loan disbursements and deposit mobilization.
Customer Acquisition: Develop and implement localized marketing strategies to attract micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within the branch's catchment area.
Product Advocacy: Ensure the team effectively communicates the value of our financial products, including savings, credit, and insurance.
2. Credit Risk & Portfolio Quality Management
Portfolio Oversight: Closely monitor the branch's Portfolio at Risk (PAR) and ensure it remains within the approved institutional threshold.
Credit Committee Leadership: Chair the Branch Credit Committee, reviewing and approving loan applications to ensure they meet the bank's credit policy and risk appetite.
Recovery Enforcement: Lead aggressive recovery efforts for delinquent accounts and ensure the timely retirement of all non-performing loans.
3. Branch Operations & Team Leadership
Operational Excellence: Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring 100% compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
People Management: Mentor, coach, and evaluate the performance of branch staff, fostering a culture of high performance and professional integrity.
Customer Experience: Ensure a high standard of service delivery, resolving complex customer complaints and maintaining strong community relations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven Tenure: Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in microfinance or retail banking, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Certification: Membership in professional bodies like CIBN (Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria) or MCP (Microfinance Certification Programme) is a significant advantage.
Technical Skills & Attributes
Credit Mastery: Deep understanding of micro-lending methodologies (Individual and Group lending).
Financial Literacy: Proficient in interpreting financial statements and managing branch P&L (Profit and Loss).
Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse field-based team.
