Job Description:
We are seeking a visionary Bar Manager to lead and elevate our beverage program. This is a dual-focus role that requires the creativity of a master mixologist and the precision of a financial controller. You will be responsible for curating a sophisticated menu of signature cocktails and fine wines while ensuring the bar operates at peak profitability. As a leader, you will mentor a team of bartenders to deliver impeccable, white-glove service that complements our fine dining standards. Requirements:
1. Beverage Program & Creative Direction
Menu Curation: Develop and maintain a world-class cocktail, wine, and spirits program that aligns with the restaurant’s luxury concept.
Innovation: Design seasonal and signature cocktails with a focus on flavor balance, premium ingredients, and "theatrical" presentation.
Quality Assurance: Ensure every drink served meets rigorous standards of consistency, temperature, and glassware elegance.
2. Operational & Financial Management
Inventory Control: Manage the full lifecycle of bar stock—from strategic ordering and receiving to secure storage and waste reduction.
Cost Engineering: Set menu pricing to achieve targeted beverage cost percentages while maintaining high perceived value.
Forecasting: Utilize sales data to forecast demand, ensuring the bar is always stocked for peak periods without over-investing in slow-moving SKUs.
3. Leadership & Guest Experience
Team Mentorship: Recruit and train a high-performance bar team, conducting ongoing education on mixology techniques, wine pairings, and hospitality etiquette.
Service Excellence: Oversee bar service to ensure it reflects fine dining standards—fast, precise, and highly personalized.
Guest Engagement: Build brand loyalty by engaging with guests, handling feedback with discretion, and creating a welcoming, sophisticated atmosphere.
4. Compliance & Safety
Legal Stewardship: Ensure strict compliance with all local alcohol laws, health regulations, and safety standards.
Facility Maintenance: Maintain a meticulously clean and organized bar environment, ensuring all equipment (espresso machines, draft systems, etc.) is serviced regularly.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience & Certifications
Tenure: Minimum of 3–5 years of bar management experience in an upscale or fine dining setting.
Preferred Certifications: Certified Sommelier, WSET Level 2/3, or advanced Mixology/Spirits certification.
Safety: Responsible Beverage Service certification (e.g., ServSafe Alcohol).
Core Competencies
Technical Mastery: Advanced knowledge of classic cocktails, global wine regions, and craft spirits.
Business Acumen: Proven ability to manage labor costs, inventory shrinkage, and beverage budgets.
Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under the pressure of a high-volume weekend service.
