Job Description:

We are seeking an aggressive, scientifically grounded, and leadership-oriented Area Manager to spearhead our commercial operations across Lagos and Ogun states. Based out of our Lagos Mainland hub, you will take full strategic and operational ownership of our field sales force, leading a team of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives.

This role demands a unique combination of deep life-science knowledge and hard-nosed territory sales management. You will be responsible for driving product adoption, managing high-value relationships with institutional accounts (hospitals, pharmacies, and clinics), and coaching your team to consistently smash their regional volume targets.

Requirements:

Field Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Rep Management: Directly oversee, mentor, and evaluate all Medical Sales Representatives operating across Lagos and Ogun states.

  • Dual-Field Accompaniments: Conduct weekly field ride-alongs and joint sales calls to audit reps' pitches, provide on-the-job coaching, and improve their clinical objection-handling.

  • Target Cascading: Disaggregate regional sales quotas into clear, actionable monthly and quarterly targets for individual reps, tracking performance via structured KPIs.

Territory Development & Key Account Management

  • Market Penetration: Formulate and execute localized route-to-market strategies to expand product distribution and prescription share in both open markets and corporate healthcare networks.

  • KOL Engagement: Cultivate and maintain premium, long-term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Chief Medical Directors, consultant doctors, and superintendent pharmacists across your assigned territory.

  • Distribution Oversight: Partner with major pharmaceutical distributors and wholesale channels across Lagos and Ogun to ensure zero stock-outs at the retail and institutional levels.

Commercial Strategy & Market Intelligence

  • Campaign Execution: Plan and supervise clinical presentations, product launch events, and clinical roundtables within hospitals and professional medical associations.

  • Data-Driven Analysis: Analyze weekly sales figures, rep activity logs, and competitive market data; compile structured market intelligence briefs for senior management.

  • Budgetary Discipline: Monitor and optimize regional operational expenses, promotional item distributions, and travel allowances to ensure maximum ROI.

Qualifications and Skills:

Mandatory Academic Background

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in one of the following specific life science disciplines:

    • Human Physiology

    • Anatomy

    • Pharmacology

    • Biochemistry

    • Microbiology

    • Biological Sciences

Experience & Territory Footprint

  • Leadership Track Record: Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable experience specifically managing a team of sales representatives within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.

  • Territory Familiarity: Deep, practical knowledge of the medical institutions, major pharmacy networks, and pharmaceutical distribution hubs on the Lagos Mainland, Lagos State, and Ogun State is non-negotiable.

  • Residency: Must be strictly resident in Lagos with a commutable proximity to the Lagos Mainland hub.
