Job Description:
We are seeking a poised, highly professional, and welcoming Front Desk Officer to serve as the premier point of contact and the "digital and physical face" of our hotel in Port Harcourt. In this high-visibility hospitality role, you will manage our active lobby reception area, orchestrate guest check-in/check-out pipelines, handle incoming telecommunications, and deliver exceptional, memory-making customer service.
The ideal candidate blends an unblemished professional presentation with the calm capability required to manage shifting guest requests, room reservation bookings, and basic front-office administrative workflows in a busy corporate hospitality environment.
Requirements:
Guest Relations & Lobby Concierge
First-Impression Excellence: Greet, receive, and onboard arriving hotel guests, corporate visitors, and VIP dignitaries in a consistently polite, refined, and professional manner.
Visitor Management: Execute formal check-in and check-out procedures, register visiting patrons, issue structural safety tags, and maintain an immaculate, audit-ready daily visitor logbook.
Aesthetic Upkeep: Ensure that the front desk, reception lobby, and digital display terminals remain highly neat, structured, welcoming, and organized at all times.
Telecommunications & Administrative Support
Switchboard Operations: Manage incoming phone lines professionally, field corporate or room-booking inquiries efficiently, and direct complex caller requests to the appropriate internal hotel departments (Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Management).
Logistical Handling: Receive, document, sort, and distribute incoming official mail, guest packages, and third-party vendor deliveries securely.
Office Administration: Support front-office operations with basic administrative tasks, including guest file maintenance, precise data entry, and executive appointment or hall scheduling.
Financial Transactions & Reporting
Front-Office Accounting: Handle straightforward cash, POS, or digital transfer payments for guest room registrations, extended bookings, or miscellaneous amenities, issuing accurate receipts and tracking ledger documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience & Entry Parameters
Track Record: 1–2 years of experience operating in a dedicated front-desk, hospitality reception, corporate concierge, or customer-facing service role is highly advantageous.
Fresh Graduate Openness: Ambitious, highly confident, and impeccably presentable fresh graduates are encouraged to apply and will be evaluated based on communication merit and behavioral testing.
Technical & Core Skill Matrix
Digital Literacy: Practical, basic computer skills, including comfortable typing speeds, professional email composition, and familiarity with simple office productivity suites (MS Word, Excel) or point-of-sale systems.
Communication Depth: Polished written and verbal English communication skills, with a natural capability for building swift rapport with local and international guests.
Stress Tolerance: Proven ability to multi-task efficiently, prioritize workflows under pressure, and remain deeply composed in a fast-paced environment.
