Job Description:
FMR Agency is seeking a high-precision Accountant to lead the financial operations of a structured retail environment. In a high-volume supermarket setting, every kobo counts. Your mission is to maintain a "zero-leakage" financial system, ensuring that daily sales, POS transactions, and inventory movements are reconciled with absolute accuracy.
You will act as the financial gatekeeper, overseeing everything from payroll and statutory remittances to vendor debt management and periodic audits. If you have 3+ years of experience in retail accounting and possess a "mandatory" mastery of Microsoft Excel, we invite you to anchor our financial integrity.
Requirements:
1. High-Volume Reconciliation & Cash Governance
Daily Settlement: Reconcile daily cashier records, POS terminal reports, and physical cash against banking activities to identify and resolve discrepancies immediately.
Vendor & Payable Management: Maintain accurate financial databases for all suppliers, ensuring vendor payments are monitored, reconciled, and executed according to credit terms.
Petty Cash Oversight: Manage and report on petty cash disbursements, ensuring every expense is documented and aligned with internal control policies.
2. Financial Reporting & Strategic Analysis
Statement Preparation: Develop and analyze comprehensive financial statements, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow reports.
Weekly/Monthly Reporting: Prepare structured reports on sales performance, expenses, payables, and receivables to provide management with real-time business intelligence.
Payroll & Statutory Compliance: Supervise payroll preparation and ensure the timely remittance of taxes (PAYE), pensions, and other regulatory levies.
3. Audit, Inventory & Risk Management
Inventory Tracking: Oversee the financial tracking of inventory movements, reconciling physical stock counts with digital accounting records to minimize shrinkage.
Internal Audits: Conduct periodic financial audits across various departments to ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
System Integrity: Maintain and update financial databases, ensuring data security and high-level accuracy for decision-making support.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Minimum of OND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a core accounting role, with a strong preference for experience in supermarkets or large-scale retail.
Software Mastery: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are mandatory (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and financial modeling).
Technical IQ: Proven experience in payroll management, vendor reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
