About Company:
TopHire Africa is a timeless and innovative HR-Consulting Service provider that's geared towards delivering recruitment and training of qualitatively verified talent.
Job Description:
We are seeking a sharp, high-conviction Equity Trader to lead our execution desk. In the volatile world of equity markets, the difference between a good trade and a great one lies in timing, discipline, and data-driven strategy.
Your mission is to execute buy and sell orders with surgical precision across both local and international markets. You will bridge the gap between investment research and market execution, ensuring that our portfolio strategies are realized with minimal slippage and maximum profitability. If you have the "market intuition" to spot trends before they break and the analytical rigour to manage risk in high-pressure environments, we invite you to drive our trading desk forward.
Requirements:
1. Market Execution & Strategy
Precision Execution: Execute high-volume equity trades across diverse markets, ensuring optimal entry and exit points while minimizing market impact.
Strategic Development: Design and implement trading strategies (e.g., trend following, mean reversion, or arbitrage) that align with the organization's risk tolerance.
Portfolio Optimization: Manage and rebalance trading portfolios to capture alpha while maintaining strict adherence to stop-loss and risk limits.
2. Technical Analysis & Market Intelligence
Active Monitoring: Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring global economic indicators, sector-specific news, and real-time price movements.
Analytical Deep-Dives: Conduct combined Technical and Fundamental Analysis to identify mispriced securities and momentum opportunities.
Collaborative Intelligence: Work closely with Portfolio Managers and Research Analysts to translate macro views into actionable trade ideas.
3. Compliance & Risk Governance
Regulatory Rigor: Ensure every trade complies with local SEC/Exchange regulations and internal ethical standards to avoid "fat-finger" errors or regulatory breaches.
Trade Settlement: Oversee the post-trade lifecycle, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely settlements with custodians and brokers.
Performance Reporting: Generate data-rich daily, weekly, and monthly reports that analyze P&L, execution quality, and risk exposure.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Experience: Proven track record as an Equity Trader or Assistant Trader in a reputable financial institution.
Market IQ: Deep understanding of local and international market structures, including order types and liquidity dynamics.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, or local exchange terminals) and MS Excel.
Behavioral Attributes
High-Pressure Resilience: Ability to make split-second decisions in fast-moving market conditions.
Analytical Mindset: Strong numerical skills and an appetite for dissecting financial data.
Communication: Clear and concise reporting skills to brief senior investment committees.
