Job Description:
Client Accounting & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate client financial records using Sage 50, QuickBooks, and Zoho.
- Post daily transactions and maintain general ledgers.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for clients.
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Process client payroll, including PAYE and pension remittances.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian statutory requirements, including:
- Value Added Tax (VAT)
- Withholding Tax (WHT)
- PAYE
- Pension remittances
- Support management accounts and financial analysis.
- Assist with audit preparation and statutory reporting.
- Liaise professionally with clients to resolve accounting and compliance issues
Internal Finance – Maroriem Consults:
- Prepare and issue client invoices for Maroriem Consults.
- Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Maintain Maroriem Consults’ internal bookkeeping, separate from client records.
- Perform bank reconciliations for firm accounts.
- Process firm expenses, vendor payments, and reimbursements.
- Support Maroriem Consults’ statutory obligations, including:
- Company Income Tax (CIT)
- VAT filings and remittances
- Withholding Tax
- Support internal payroll for staff and contractors.
- Prepare internal financial reports for management review.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 1-4 years experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Mandatory hands-on experience with Sage 50, QuickBooks, and Zoho.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and payroll regulations.
- Experience handling bookkeeping and tax compliance for multiple clients.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Must own and use a functional personal laptop for daily remote work.
- Must have reliable internet access.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Professional ethics and confidentiality awareness.
- ICAN or ACCA (completed or in progress) is an advantage.
