Job Description:

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking to grow in a dynamic environment? We are seeking an Account Officer to join our team in Lagos. You will be responsible for overseeing high-volume financial transactions, maintaining rigorous financial statements, and ensuring full compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

As an Account Officer, you will bridge the gap between back-office financial reporting and front-facing customer service, ensuring that our financial operations remain seamless and transparent.

Requirements:

Financial Accounting & Operations

• Transaction Management: Oversee daily financial entries, ensuring accuracy in the General Ledger.

• Account Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Accounts Receivable & Payable: Manage customer payments, process invoices, and handle inquiries with a focus on exceptional customer service.

• Fixed Asset Management: Support the tracking and management of company assets and equipment.

Reporting & Financial Planning

• Financial Reporting: Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, contributing to the preparation of balance sheets and P&L statements.

• Data Analysis: Utilize analytical skills to identify financial trends and provide data-driven insights for financial planning.

• Budget Support: Assist internal teams with budget monitoring and expenditure tracking.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial activities adhere to Nigerian tax laws and accounting standards.

• Audit Readiness: Maintain a meticulously organized filing system for all financial records to support internal and external audits.

• Software Management: Leverage QuickBooks and other accounting tools to streamline financial workflows.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

• Professional Certification: Enrollment in or completion of ACA or ACCA is a significant advantage.

• Experience: Proven work experience in an accounting or finance-related role.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Advanced skills in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).

  • Solid grasp of financial reporting practices and internal controls.

• Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability.

  • Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and customer service.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
