Job Description:
Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking to grow in a dynamic environment? We are seeking an Account Officer to join our team in Lagos. You will be responsible for overseeing high-volume financial transactions, maintaining rigorous financial statements, and ensuring full compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
As an Account Officer, you will bridge the gap between back-office financial reporting and front-facing customer service, ensuring that our financial operations remain seamless and transparent.
Requirements:
Financial Accounting & Operations
Transaction Management: Oversee daily financial entries, ensuring accuracy in the General Ledger.
Account Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Accounts Receivable & Payable: Manage customer payments, process invoices, and handle inquiries with a focus on exceptional customer service.
Fixed Asset Management: Support the tracking and management of company assets and equipment.
Reporting & Financial Planning
Financial Reporting: Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, contributing to the preparation of balance sheets and P&L statements.
Data Analysis: Utilize analytical skills to identify financial trends and provide data-driven insights for financial planning.
Budget Support: Assist internal teams with budget monitoring and expenditure tracking.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial activities adhere to Nigerian tax laws and accounting standards.
Audit Readiness: Maintain a meticulously organized filing system for all financial records to support internal and external audits.
Software Management: Leverage QuickBooks and other accounting tools to streamline financial workflows.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Professional Certification: Enrollment in or completion of ACA or ACCA is a significant advantage.
Experience: Proven work experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
Technical Proficiency:
Advanced skills in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
Solid grasp of financial reporting practices and internal controls.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability.
Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and customer service.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
