Job Description:

Are you a detail-oriented finance graduate looking to launch your career with a dynamic team? We are seeking a Junior Accountant to support our financial department in Ikeja. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy of our financial records and ensuring that all business transactions are processed efficiently.

You will work closely with Senior Accountants to manage the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) cycles, contributing directly to the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.

Requirements:

Transaction Processing & Bookkeeping

• Journal Entries: Post and process daily journal entries to ensure all business transactions are accurately recorded in the General Ledger.

• AR/AP Management: Update Accounts Receivable, issue client invoices, and manage Accounts Payable including vendor reconciliations.

• Database Management: Maintain and update financial databases to ensure data integrity and real-time availability for management.

Financial Reporting & Support

• Statement Preparation: Assist in the processing of Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and other financial reports in accordance with legal and company guidelines.

• Audit & Review: Assist in reviewing business expenses, payroll records, and statutory deductions as assigned.

• Reporting: Prepare and submit comprehensive weekly and monthly financial reports to track departmental performance.

Period-End Closing

• Closing Support: Collaborate with Senior Accountants during monthly and yearly closings to ensure all deadlines are met.

• Documentation: Ensure all financial documentation is filed and archived according to internal compliance standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: B.Sc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional Path: Candidates currently pursuing ICAN or ACCA certifications are highly encouraged to apply.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas).

  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally) is an advantage.

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP).

• Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.
