Job Description:

1. Core Accounting & Taxation

• Financial Preparation: Assist in preparing financial and management accounts for Group structures and diverse client portfolios.

• Tax Compliance: Support the preparation of personal and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to current tax laws.

• VAT Management: Process and prepare periodic VAT returns and management accounts for review.

2. Bookkeeping & Data Integrity

• Ledger Management: Execute day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including journal postings and complex ledger reconciliations.

• Software Mastery: Process client records accurately using modern accountancy software, ensuring data integrity across all digital platforms.

• Year-End Support: Assist in the preparation of year-end financial accounts, ensuring all reconciliations are audit-ready.

3. Client Relations & Operations

• Client Experience: Assist in managing client expectations, ensuring all deadlines are met with high-quality deliverables.

• Administrative Support: Support the team with general administrative duties, including client greetings, professional correspondence, and maintaining organized physical and digital files.

Qualifications and Skills:

Academic & Professional Background

• Education: Degree in Accounting or Finance. Candidates with a partial qualification in a recognized professional accounting body (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) are highly preferred.

• Theoretical Mastery: You must possess very strong theoretical knowledge of accounting concepts and principles (Double-entry, Revenue Recognition, IFRS/GAAP).

Technical Skills

• Digital Literacy: Proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) is a significant advantage.

• Software Experience: Hands-on experience with accounting software (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, etc.) is highly valued.

• Bookkeeping Knowledge: Prior experience with general ledgers and year-end accounts preparation is an added advantage.
