SOLAR INSTALLATION ENGINEER AT THE HR PILOT SOLUTIONS | SOLAR INSTALLATION ENGINEER JOBS IN LAGSO

Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria | Posted on 21/01/2026

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Solar Installation Engineer to join our renewable energy team. This role is for a technical expert capable of designing and executing full-lifecycle solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. You will be responsible for translating technical drawings into robust physical systems—covering on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid architectures. Beyond installation, you will serve as a lead troubleshooter and technical advisor, ensuring that every kilowatt-hour generated meets our rigorous standards for efficiency and safety. If you have a deep understanding of power electronics and a passion for engineering excellence in the field, we want to hear from you.

Requirements:

1. System Design & Site Engineering

  • Technical Assessment: Conduct comprehensive site audits, including roof integrity checks, shading analysis, and precise system sizing.

  • Schematic Interpretation: Read and interpret complex electrical diagrams, string layouts, and technical drawings to ensure precise installation.

  • Component Integration: Expertly configure and install high-capacity inverters, lithium-ion/lead-acid battery banks, and advanced charge controllers.

2. Installation & Commissioning

  • Full-Stack Installation: Lead the mounting, wiring, and commissioning of residential, commercial, and industrial PV systems.

  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to electrical codes and safety regulations (e.g., NEMSA or IEC standards), especially when working at heights or with high-voltage DC/AC circuits.

  • Power Management: Calibrate hybrid systems to optimize energy flow between the solar array, battery storage, and the grid or backup generators.

3. Maintenance & Technical Support

  • System Diagnostics: Perform advanced troubleshooting, thermal imaging, and performance testing to identify and resolve system bottlenecks or hardware failures.

  • Client Empowerment: Provide hands-on user training to clients, explaining system monitoring, basic maintenance, and safety protocols.

  • Documentation: Prepare detailed post-installation reports, commissioning certificates, and maintenance logs.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Technical Credentials

  • Academic Background: HND or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Proven Tenure: Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in solar PV installation and commissioning.

  • Certifications: NABCEP, COREN, or similar industry-recognized certifications are highly preferred.

Core Competencies

  • Electrical Mastery: Deep knowledge of DC/AC wiring, circuit protection (breakers/fuses), and earthing/lightning protection systems.

  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with system design and load calculation tools (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, or AutoCAD).

  • Physical Agility: Ability to work at heights and in varying outdoor weather conditions.

  • Problem Solving: A methodical approach to diagnosing complex electrical faults in hybrid and battery-coupled systems.
