Job Description:

We are seeking a master-level Industrial Electrician with a minimum of 10 years of field experience to oversee electrical infrastructure within a heavy construction and manufacturing environment. You will be the technical lead responsible for the reliability of high-voltage power distribution and the precision of automated control systems. Your primary mission is to eliminate unplanned downtime through expert preventive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting. This role requires a high degree of technical autonomy and a strict commitment to Nigerian Electrical Standards and the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Requirements:

1. High-Voltage Infrastructure & Commissioning

• System Installation: Lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of complex electrical wiring, transformers, and switchgear.

• Power Distribution: Manage 3-phase power systems to ensure balanced loads and stable energy supply across the site.

• Blueprint Mastery: Interpret advanced electrical blueprints and schematics to execute precise wiring layouts for industrial machinery.

2. Industrial Automation & PLC Systems

• Automation Logic: Program, diagnose, and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)—specifically Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider Electric systems.

• Motor Controls: Maintain and troubleshoot sophisticated motor control centers (MCC) to ensure automated production lines function at peak efficiency.

• Electronic Integration: Calibrate sensors and actuators that interface with digital control systems.

3. Maintenance, Diagnostics & Safety

• Preventive Excellence: Perform scheduled inspections on generators, motors, and thermal components to detect potential failures before they occur.

• Advanced Troubleshooting: Use precision tools—including oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, and thermal imaging cameras—to isolate and rectify system faults.

• Safety Compliance: Enforce Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and ensure all work complies with the NEC and local safety regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Certification

• Academic: HND or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.

• Vocational: Trade Test I, II, & III certification is accepted with relevant experience.

Experience & Technical Skills

• Tenure: Minimum of 10 years of experience as an electrician in a heavy manufacturing or factory environment.

• Residency: Must reside in Port Harcourt.

• Tool Proficiency: Expert hands-on ability with digital multimeters, meggers, and specialized diagnostic hardware.

• System Knowledge: Deep understanding of industrial automation frameworks and heavy-duty power fixtures.
