Job Description:

We are seeking a highly disciplined and technically elite Senior Project Engineer to lead our project execution teams in Lagos. This is a high-impact role requiring a blend of structural mastery, rigorous quality governance, and people leadership. Your mission is to take complex engineering designs and translate them into physical reality, ensuring that every phase of construction meets the highest international standards.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will serve as the technical anchor on-site. You will be responsible for the accuracy of execution, the enforcement of QA/QC protocols, and the strategic management of a diverse workforce. We are looking for a COREN-certified professional with an advanced academic background who can navigate the fast-paced Lagos construction landscape with precision and authority.

Requirements:

1. Engineering Execution & Drawing Interpretation

• Technical Translation: Act as the primary authority in interpreting complex structural and construction drawings, ensuring they are accurately translated into field execution.

• Standards Enforcement: Supervise all on-site activities to ensure strict conformance with engineering standards and established quality baselines.

• Structural Integrity: Proactively identify potential design-to-field conflicts and provide engineered solutions to maintain project momentum.

2. QA/QC Governance & Quality Management

• Protocol Ownership: Oversee and enforce all Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) processes, ensuring that material testing, structural checks, and finishing meet specified codes.

• Compliance: Ensure the project adheres to both local regulatory requirements and global engineering best practices.

• Risk Mitigation: Conduct regular site audits to identify and rectify non-conformities before they impact the project lifecycle.

3. Planning & Workforce Management

• Progress Tracking: Prepare accurate work projections and utilize project management tools to track actual progress against the planned program.

• Human Capital Leadership: Direct and manage the labor force and specialized artisans on-site, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and technical excellence.

• Resource Optimization: Balance labor availability with project milestones to minimize downtime and prevent cost overruns.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: B.Sc / HND in Civil Engineering. A Master’s Degree (M.Sc) in an Engineering discipline is required.

• Certification: COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) registration is mandatory.

• Experience: Proven seniority in a project engineering role with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale civil or structural projects.

Core Competencies

• Technical Analytical Skills: Mastery in reading and interpreting structural, mechanical, and electrical (MEP) drawings.

• Project Planning: Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project) to track work projections.

• Leadership: Strong ability to command and coordinate large site teams and sub-contractors effectively.
